Most surgeons would recommend that you wait at least 6 weeks before lifting greater than 10 lbs or so.
Thank you for your question! I always encourage patients to discuss their specific post-operative restrictions directly with their operating board certified plastic surgeon since each surgeon may have his or her own specific philosophy and post-operative protocols. With that being said, I often perform this combination of procedures on mothers with young children who are similarly concerned as to when they can get back to 'mommy duty.' While the general recommendation is to refrain from any exercising and/or heavy lifting (anything more than 20lbs) for 4 weeks, I understand that when a baby (or child) wants his or her mother that certain exceptions must be made. If your child is walking and able to assist with the lifting or latch on to you, I would recommend that you lift using your legs or arms rather than your core. Please discuss this with your surgeon.I hope that you find this helpful and I wish you all of the best.
Thanks much for reaching out. Are usually tell my patience to wait at least six weeks after tell me tuck for heavy lifting. I defined heavy lifting as anything over 20 pounds. So it really depends on how much your baby weighs.I hope this helps :-)
Hi- thanks for your question. Everyone is a little different, but 5-6 weeks is a good rule of thumb.
Thank you for your question. The first few weeks are the most crucial where pushing, pulling or lifting anything heavier than 5 pounds is not recommended during this period. That being said, waiting 6 weeks until lifting 20 pounds after a Tummy Tuck is a good time period to wait. Andrew T. Lyos, M.D., FACS
Good question. I believe that you can pick up your child once you are comfortable. I advise my patients to use their legs and arms to lift. Some surgeons recommend waiting longer, but when a baby wants their mother, you need to do what you need to do. Be careful bending at the waist. use your knees. I would check with your surgeon before considering my approach, as all surgeons have their preferences.
I would say that actually lifting up of the child I usually tell my patients to wait about 6 weeks. On the other hand if the child is able to latch on without you having to bend over then it could be sooner. Best to review with your surgeon.
The baby's weight is a consideration but, generally, six weeks. This makes it difficult without a nanny or family assistance. It's much easier at age two when the child can be encouraged to climb on his/her own.
It is impossible to remove excess skin without some incision. That being said you can have a limited/mini tummy tuck through an incision similar to a c-section. If you do not want an incision about your belly button this can also be done but all of the laxity in the skin and muscle may not be...
Sorry to hear this happened to you. With proper wound care it will heal, but it takes time. Work with your plastic surgeon on this but consider a second opinion if not healing.
Hi,Assuming you are a home cook and not working in a professional kitchen, you can cook whenever you feel up to it as long as you follow any weight restrictions, etc. recommendation by your plastic surgeon. For safety, you should not be cooking while on pain medications. Thanks for the question.
