Dr. Desman's expertise with male liposuction was a significant data point in finding a practice to do my procedure. I'm four weeks post-procedure and happy with the results. It's comfortable being out of the compression wrap and I eased into my first visit back to the gym today (light exercise only). Looking forward to refined results as the healing process continues. As a lifelong fitness enthusiast in my early-fifties, it's been harder and harder to lose that last few pounds around my belt line. I can already tell that the head-start (i.e. feeling "lighter" as I exercise and just generally move around) over the next year will be extra motivation to eat clean and up my hours per week in the gym.
I decided to get back on Real Self contemplating some surgeries. Saw my PS from my 2008 breast augmentation and realized that I never gave him a review. It's been 14 years, fluctuating weight and they still look great. I thought by the 10 year mark that I'd at least start having problems, but they have held up great. The secret to no sagging is to wear a sports bra around the house and even to bed. They 450 cc of saline and they are still perky. I'll probably upload some before and after later.
I am extremely satisfied with my breast reduction procedure that I've put off for years. My posture improved within the first few days after the procedure. Dr. Desmond and staff was very kind and informative of pre-op and post-op instructions.
I’ve been plagued with eyebags for YEARS and finally decided to talk to someone. Dr. Desman explained everything to me, answered all of my questions and made me feel more confident about my appearance!
I had indented shoulders and upper back problems. After getting my surgery the outcome it came out perfect. The staff are very friendly and they take good care of you. I appreciate the care I was well taken care of.
50-year old female - Breast lift without implants. I cannot stop thinking about the incredible experience I had with Dr. Eric Desman and his team . I had a couple consultations with other surgeons before Dr Desman, within minutes of my consultation I Dr Desman was the one I wanted to perform my breast lift. Everyone I encountered at his office was warm and friendly. His assistant Ms Olga made me feel so relaxed , such a great spirit and personality! Everyone was friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. He explained the surgery very well so I knew what to expect. Dr Desman and Olga eased my anxiety and stayed in touch with me every step of he way. I am 6 days post-op and I am sooooo pleased with the results!!! My recovery is going well ! Thank you Dr Desman ! You are the best!! Updated on 29 Jul 2021: 14 days post op..... they are healing and settling nicely. I feel great and can't wait until they are all healed up! Will post another pic after my post op next week. Dr Desman would remove remaining tape on 8/3. Love them!! Updated on 1 Aug 2021: Updated on 9 Aug 2021: Check out my preop photo and you would see why I’m loving this lift .
First time I went to see Doctor Desman, I though all I need was a liposuction, he explained that if I want a flat tummy what I needed was a tummy tuck with liposuction and he was right. Dr. Desman worked some magic and now I have a flat tummy and a trim and defined waist. I went from a size 6 to a 4. I am really happy with the care I've received from Dr. Desman and team. I've had a few questions over the weeks post surgery and have received timely response from them Carmen.
I just woke up so anxious. Today is pre-op day and I still haven’t found anyone on this page who has used my Doctor Eric Desman. He has great reviews on his page but I want reviews from here. My consultation was wonderful but now we are two weeks away from the actual day. I would love to find at least one person here who has had surgery with him. ????????. He is at the Virginia Plastic Surgery Center. Updated on 12 Mar 2019: I can’t believe it is finally coming. I am excited and scared at the same time.
I'm 45 now but wanted to get Gynecomastia surgery since I first realized what it was (approx. 15 yrs ago). I have had it since I was a teen. Approx. 15 yrs ago, I went to a plastic surgeon in DC who told me that he didn't see anything wrong. I'm so glad I discovered VCPS and Dr. Desman this year. All of the staff was great and Dr. Desman has a calming demeanor (for those afraid of surgery). The surgery went as planned and I did not experience any complications. Everything looks great and I feel more confident now! Aftercare was excellent, as they schedule many follow up appts at no cost to see how things are progressing and give you an opportunity to ask questions. Overall a great experience!
I have been going back and forth about breast reduction surgery for years. I have suffered from back and neck pain for SO long but the thought of surgery always scared me. I tried every bra and even lost weight, but the pain and discomfort never went away. When I finally decided to have the surgery, I did my research for the right surgeon and all roads lead to Dr. Desman. I chose him because of all the amazing reviews I read and they were all absolutely right. Everyone at VCPS was helpful and professional from the moment you call to set up the consultation (especially Martha being as though she answered my hundreds or phone calls and questions leading up to surgery). Dr. Desman focused on me and listened to everything I wanted. He was very thorough from day one and always made sure to explain everything, step by step, to me and my mom. He told me exactly what to expect when I got to the hospital all the way to how I would feel after the surgery. And on the day of surgery he was patient and walked me through everything again. I’m currently 4 weeks post-op and I feel amazing! No sign of neck or back pain. I didn’t experience any pain after surgery, just soreness, which is way better than I expected. Scarring is very minimal. You can tell Dr. Desman took his time and was extremely neat. I feel so free and I would 100% do this again. I can’t give enough thanks and praise to Dr. Desman and his team at VCPS for changing my life!! Thank you!
Thank you for the question and photos. It looks like you may indeed have a tuberous breast deformity. In addition, your breasts are of different size, shape and position on your chest. There are some things that can be done to improve your symmetry and address your size concerns, but there will always be differences between the sides. There is also a limitation on how close together the implants can be placed due to anatomical reasons. You have a relatively complicated cosmetic problem and I recommend seeing an experienced (10-15 years) board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in breast surgery. Good luch
Sorry you are having this problem. There are a number of possibilities. If these were placed under the muscle, it could be the muscle was not released completely down below. Alternatively, you could have an early capsular contracture. An element of your natural asymmetry can also be in play. Ultimately, you will need to figure this out with your surgeon.
Great question about implants dropping. For most patients, implants drop within about three months after surgery. Occasionally it takes longer. It is important that the implants are sized and proportioned to your tissues initially to get a great long term result. The best way to achieve that is to have your breast tissues measured before surgery to determine the optimal implant size for your tissues.
Thank you for your question and the photo. It appears that you have some chest asymmetry, and likely some excess tissue. An in-person exam would be needed to determine if you have more fatty development or true breast tissue excess. A surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery can give you a definitive answer. Treatment options depends on the anatomic problem. For some patients, liposuction alone is sufficient. For others, direct excision. For many, a combination of excision and liposuction is the best plan. Some patients even need skin excision as well. From your picture, you likely will not need skin excision. During your consultation, you will be able to create a customized plan to address your chest. Good luck.
Thank you for your question. Silicone implants, generally speaking volume for volume will weigh more than a structured implant. As far as "feel to the touch" is concerned, my personal experience is that the Ideal Implant is somewhere in between the feel of a traditional saline and a silicone, but more toward the silicone feel. Not quite exactly equivalent, but close.
