but now my testicals and penis are extremely swollen. Almost double even triple the size of the normal. I'm very worried. They didn't do any liposuction of any kind they had just removed the masses from my chest and cut incisions under the nipple and removed what they had too. Should I be worried? Is this normal? They don't hurt, just uncomfortable and a little bothersome. Please help, I need advice on what I should do.They don't hurt, just uncomfortable and a little bothersome. Please help?

Thank you for your question.It is unusual after a simple #gynecomastia #surgery to have swelling so far from the surgery site.  Please contact your #BoardCertified #PlasticSurgeon for advice on how to handle your situation.It is still very early in your healing process and #swelling and #bruising are normal for the first 3-4 weeks post-op, however swelling of the testicles and penis are much more unusual cases.

It isn't uncommon to have swelling and bruising outside of the surgical area.  I've seen this before.  It should resolve in a few weeks.  Be sure to f/u with your surgeon.

This is not a common finding after gynecomastia excision. To some extent, it could be explained by bleeding at the excision site or liposuction slightly down onto the chest wall. We are made in layers and bleeding or bruising can make its way down toward our pubis.

Thanks for your question, you mentioned your abdomen, did you have liposuction ?  If so, then it is normal to have swelling to your penis and testicals.  If that's the case then I have my patients wear a jock strap and fitted briefs for compression.  If this was just a gynecomastia, I am not sure why you would have swelling below your chest.

Hi austinb,Thanks for the post. Typically bruising and swelling of the penis and scrotum is not unusual after liposuction of the abdomen. If you had liposuction of the abdomen at the same time as your gynecomastia surgery then that is the explanation and there is no need to be concerned. I have not seen bruising and swelling of the penis and scrotum when the surgery is limited to the chest only. Sincerely,Dr. Dadvand
