Hello,Thank you for your question.Sometimes patients find that they put on weight after increasing calorie intake post surgery or they may notice problem areas more after improving one area. I recommend that you work on maintaining a healthy stable weight through diet and exercise, and talk with your Plastic Surgeon about additional treatment options for your abdomen if you wish. All the best
It is unlikely that you have moved your problem to your belly. Get your surgeon to evaluate your belly to see if you are a candidate for liposuction or just good old fashion weight loss
Many patients gain weight after liposuction and believe that the fat traveled to distant body areas.Patients that undergo liposuction and chest reduction are advised to lose weight in most cases as this will optimize results.Gaining weight puts fat on everywhere one doesn't want it to be; the treated areas are usually not that badly affected. Please use this information when consulting in person with an Experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
When you had your gynecomastia surgery, many of the fat cells were likely removed from your chest area. If you gain weight afterwards, you will likely see a greater increase in a different area of the body. I always recommend a healthy diet and active lifestyle before and after surgery. You may also want to discuss this with your plastic surgeon or primary care provider.
Thank you for your question. The fat from your chest didn't move to your belly. It is likely from weight gain .
Hi razzlekicks,Thanks for the post. In short, the fat did not move to your belly area. The most likely explanation is that you have gained weight. I recommend either diet and exercise or seek consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation for liposuction to your abdominal area. Sincerely,Dr. Dadvand
Fat removed after any surgery, including gynecomastia surgery, won't "move" elsewhere. If you gain weight however, it is more likely to show is untreated areas, like your belly.
Increased belly fat is related to gaining weight not your previous gynecomastia surgery. Best of luck.
The increase in your belly fat is not likely related to your breast surgery that you had a year ago. Typically patients either gain weight and their belly becomes more noticeable to them or their belly was always there but now that the breasts are smaller their belly fat has become more apparent to them. Either way, a return to your plastic surgeon or consultation with another plastic surgeon will give you the opportunity to discuss options to improve your belly fat.
Thank you for your question. After #gynecomastia #surgery it typically takes up to six months to see final results. I would wait a few more months to see how you continue to #heal and how #swelling is reduced. If the #asymmetry persists six months post-op, please contact your #BoardCertified ...
Our patients are required to wear a compression garment for the a few weeks following their #Gynecomastia surgery. The #compression garment helps to reduce the swelling, and the longer it is worn, the more quickly you will heal.We recommend it not be removed, at all, until the second or third day...
It's very early in your recovery from gynecomastia surgery. As you heal, the area may feel “lumpy” and irregular. This, too, decreases with time, and massaging these areas will help soften the scar tissue. The #compression garment helps reduce the swelling, and the longer it is worn, the mor...
