I am still in the process of losing weight. I don’t want to schedule a consultation until I am closer to a healthy weight and bmi. I was just wondering when the time comes, which type of tummy tuck would I best benefit from? I carry literally all of my weight in my abdomen due to insulin resistance which is being monitored and is stable. I have no butt so I would like a Brazilian butt lift too if it is within budget but the abdomen is the most important.
Answer: Tummy tuck thigh lift mastopexy arm lift buttock augmentation buttock lift bodylift expert Thank you for your question regarding what type of tummy tuck would benefit from the most with insulin-dependent diabetes. Thank you for including your history and your pictures. Suppose I had to predict what type of tummy tuck you would need. I would suggest an extended low horizontal tummy tuck or abdominoplasty. I suggest you have the extended version of the tummy tuck to address as much skin and fat as possible over the lateral portion of the tummy next to the hip. I would suggest the incision be placed low because the high lateral tension tummy tuck would not significantly benefit you. I would also suggest the horizontal tummy tuck or abdominoplasty because I do not think you need a vertical component or a fleur de lis incision. Therefore, I would suggest the extended horizontal low-cut tummy tuck. Time will tell, and we will see what you need once you lose weight. However, If I had to guess, I would suggest the extended low tummy tuck. I hope this helps answer your question about what kind of tummy tuck you need.

Answer: What type of tummy tuck From the photos posted, once you have achieved a healthy, stable weight an extended or circumferential tummy tuck will likely be recommended for you. Liposuction will help to contour your curves. For elective plastic surgery it is recommended that you have a BMI of 30 or lower to keep risk of complications low and to allow your surgeon the opportunity to maximize your results.

Answer: Visceral fat Because of your condition you storage all of the extra weight not only subcutaneously, but inside of the abdominal cavity and that will be impossible to remove surgically only by losing weight. After losing weight and reach a healthier BMI below 30 Your abdomen will be flatter and even your issues with insulin resistance will improve and sometimes even cured. Once you achieve that (BMI and flat abdomen) you will be a wonderful candidate for Tummy Tuck and muscle repair to remove saggy skin and tighten your muscle. Be encouraged. Dr. Cárdenas

Answer: BMI must be 32 or lower You will need a circumferential lift that includes your abdomen and back. This would need to be done in 2 stages. I would begin with the abdomen and then do the back. However, you need a BMI of 32 or lower to undergo this surgery. You may want to consult with a bariatric surgeon if you are having trouble losing weight. I always recommend a low fat diet, core exercises such as sit-ups, planks, pilates and start wearing an abdominal binder. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: What type of Tummy Tuck? Thanks for your question. I would recommend scheduling a consultation with your plastic surgeon once you reach your weight goals. In my clinic I follow recommendations of not performing elective surgery on anyone with a BMI greater than 32. Your body will change with weight loss- you will lose subcutaneous fat and visceral fat. At that time you will be able to see which abdominoplasty options would be best for you (traditional abdominoplasty, lipoabdomionplasty, etc).
