Is there anything that can be done to improve the look of my lip lift scar? (Photos)

Question

I’m 3 weeks post op from a bullhorn lip lift using dissolvable sutures. My scar is raised with visible suture marks around most of my nose. There's a piece of my scar that is especially raised/fibrous where there were sutures insides my nose. Is there anything I can/should do about the scar? Can I expect it to improve with time at all? Also, is it normal that 2 sutures still remain and it’s not entirely closed? I apologize the pics are so blurry, I can’t seem to get good ones with my phone!

Thank you for your pictures your healing looks good.  Please do follow your surgeons protocol.  You could at this stage application moisturise or bio oil to help hydrate the scar.  All The Best

There are several options for lip lift scar, including:
Surgical revisionLaser resurfacingDermabrasion
A surgical revision is often favored, assuming there is still room along the philtrum to remove more tissue. Since less tissue is removed during a revision compared to the original lip lift surgery in most cases, the area is under less tension which usually results in better healing and improved scar appearance. Revision bullhorn lip lift. This is why I never use this! For 45 years I have used the M type lip lift which has the scar INSIDE the nose except for a small one at the base of the columella. I have never had to revise my lip lifts. See a very experienced lip lift surgeon to excise this scar and convert it to a M type

Talk with your surgeon. Are they prepared to help you with the scar or are they simply being unhelpful? If they are unhelpful, I recommend seeking out a dermatologist who is offering scar care. This is becoming an increasing focus for dermatologist. The redness can be improved with laser treatments. Also the volume of the scar can be helped with 5-FU. You do not have to live with this.
