Thank you for your question. You will get experience bruising and swelling for about 7-10 days. You are encouraged to use cool packs to help the swelling decrease. As long as the scar has healed then you can applied make up to disguise the scar between 10-14 days after surgery. All The Best
Postoperatively, after a lip lift, you can anticipate bruising and swelling that will be noticeable to you and others for about 1 week. After the sutures are removed or dissolve, depending on the type used, there will be redness along the incision line for 4-6 weeks but this can be covered with makeup after about 10 days. Sometimes the upper lip lift is overcorrected with the initial procedure and will slowly assume its final position over weeks to months. Consult with an experienced lip surgeon for a complete range of options that are appropriate for your situation.Gary Linkov, MDLip Specialist / RealSelf Lip Lift Medical ReviewerManhattan
I my patients bruising and swelling is minimal. I do want my patients to wear a tape on the incision after the stitches are removed for about 5 days. The stitch are out in five days. The scar under the nose could be a little red and makeup could cover it. You would also need to apply sun blocks on the incision. You should be able to go to work and appear in public after ten days.
Usually the swelling is minimized in only a few days. Patients usually go back to work after 1-2 days. I avoid the use of external sutures across the incision line. Instead, I use a technique with a clear subcutaneous tissue suture, which is removed at two weeks.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Greetings thanks for your question and photos, you are a perfect candidate for a liplift surgery to reduce the space between your nose and lips
A surgical lip lift is a great option for patients who feel as if the distance between their upper lip and their nose is too long or has lengthened over time. A lip lift can improve definition of the lip border and improve pink lip volume. I would advise anyone looking into this procedur...
Gregarious702860,You can mess around with lip lift surgeries but you more likely need orthognathic surgery. A craniofacial specialized plastic surgeon or maxillofacial surgeon should be able to determine the cause of your tooth show and develop a treatment plan.Good luck,Nirmal R. Nathan, M.D. ...
