Thank you for your question. When a suture suspension necklift is performed a permanent deep suture is placed to suspend the neck muscles. The knot from these sutures are then buried with soft tissue and sutures with a temporary suture. Postop, the tissues can swell and get hard. This can feel like a palpable lump. As the swelling resolves, this should improve considerably. If it does not, you may be feeling the permanent suture knot. I would recommend discussing with your surgeon and being patient for swelling to fully resolve...6 months. Thereafter, if it is still palpable, buring the suture can be performed later under local anesthesia. Best wishes on your recovery.
