Thanks for your question. If you've consulted with your gynaecologist and they have already confirmed that you have a benign ovarian cyst, tummy tuck surgery should not be an issue. I have even coordinated removal of a symptomatic ovarian cyst at the same as tummy tuck surgery. However, you would need to have a proper assessment by a PS to ensure TT surgery is appropriate for you.
If you GYN told you not to worry about the cyst, then you should be perfectly fine to have a tummy tuck if you are an appropriate candidate. If in the future you do require surgical treatment for the cyst, this would likely be done laparoscopically (through tiny incisions) and likely will not interfere with the results of your tummy tuck. Best of luck!
Thank you for your question. If your Gyn has followed your cyst and does not recommend removal, it should be safe to proceed with the tummy tuck. I always get this confirmation with a letter or phone call to ensure that it is safe to proceed. Best wishes,Dr. Eagan
Ovarian cysts are not a rare issue and if your GYN says your cyst is fine and can be left alone, then you are OK to proceed. It is always good to make sure all internal organs are stable before proceeding with a tummy tuck. No one wants a surgical procedure on the abdomen after a tummy tuck if it can possibly be helped. I hope all goes well. Best wishes,Dr. Peterson
Hello. At this juncture it is possible to have a TT with a small ovarian cyst however your PS will advise you that the future behavior of that cyst is uncertain ( it may or may not get larger) and may affect your overall result. Be careful. Good luck. Dr. B
Thank you for your question. If your OBGYN says OK it is OK to do TT if you are a candidate for it. Pl see a board certified PS for evaluation.
If your ob/gyn said it was fine to proceed and you are healthy otherwise, then it should not be a problem to have a tummy tuck. Make sure to see a board certified PS who can examine you and go over your options.
I see no issue with having a TT in the presence of an ovarian cyst that itself does not need surgery. All the best.
Thank you for the question. An ovarian cyst is not a contraindication to tummy tuck assuming that this is a benign process. The tummy tuck will address any laxity of the abdominal muscle wall, the loose skin of the abdomen and a good bit of any stretch marks you may have, particularly below the bellybutton. I would recommend that you consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for an in-person examination and a discussion of your goals. I hope this helps. Best wishes.
From what you say, it sounds like your gynecologist isn't concerned, and that having a tummy tuck should be fine. Discuss with your plastic surgeon at the time of your tummy tuck consultation. To find out more about tummy tucks, click on the link below.
This is a recurring problem on these pages. When patients travel out of the country for surgery and have complications, they have trouble finding help. You will be better off seeing a plastic surgeon if you can find one, but otherwise the ER may be your next option. Your primary doc may be able...
It is my opinion that small amounts of alcohol has a beneficial effect on the body. However, I am not your surgeon and it is always best to follow your surgeon's recommendations. You might ask she/he the rationale behind 2.5 weeks. Perhaps it is exaggerated as most people will bend the rules...
Thanks for the question. There's no age limit or ideal age for Tummy Tuck. Which means 53 isn't too old to have a Tummy Tuck.
