I had an excellent experience with Dr. Eagan and his team. Their bedside manner and approachability truly set them apart. Dr. Eagan is easy to talk to, spends ample time with each patient, and never makes you feel rushed. Post-op, their responsive text message system allowed me to easily ask questions and get quick answers, which was incredibly reassuring. Most importantly, the results are amazing and have exceeded my expectations. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to trust Dr. Eagan with my care.
After going through breast cancer and choosing to have reconstruction, I am incredibly grateful to have had Dr. Eagan as my plastic surgeon. From the start, he treated me with such kindness, compassion, and professionalism. He truly listened to my concerns, explained every step of the process thoroughly, and made me feel completely supported through it all. His attention to detail is outstanding, and I am so happy with my post-cancer reconstruction results. The outcome exceeded my expectations—natural, balanced, and something I feel confident and comfortable with again. The care didn’t stop with him either. The office staff takes such great care of you every step of the way. I was especially impressed with their texting system—it made communication so easy—and the nurses are incredibly responsive and helpful with any questions or concerns. Dr. Eagan is not only a highly skilled surgeon but also a kind and compassionate human being. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone facing reconstruction after cancer.
In Januaryof 2024 I was diagnosed with breast cancer in my R breast. Since this was early detection I had the option of getting an implant the same day as the mastectomy. The original surgeon that was recommended to me by my oncologist used an implant that was way too big for my frame and did not remotely match the other side. None of my clothes fit and I was very self-conscious about the way my chest looked. I saw Dr. Eagan in November asking for a mastectomy revision. He did a spectacular job in using an implant that not only was the right size, but the right shape as well. I now have two perfectly matching breasts. I'm so grateful to Dr. Eagan for his amazing artistry.
Exceptional in every way. Top skilled surgeon, excellent communicator, caring staff. My 31 year old breast cancer reconstruction badly needed needed revision. I am now comfortable and look normal again.
Dr. Eagan is a very professional and knowledgeable plastic surgeon. I went to him to get my Top Surgery done and I am so glad I did. I love my results and feel so much happier! Dr. Eagan and his team is respectful and helped me feel seen. I highly recommend him!
Dr. Eagan is amazing, I had a double mastectomy with free nipple grafts with him and the results were phenomenal. I feel so much happier with how I look. I am recommending him to anyone who asks me about that surgery.
I don't know where to start. I met with several plastic surgeons before making a decision. Dr. Eagan took time to fully explain my procedure, he even drew a picture. Hands down the deciding factor was having no drains after surgery. I truly believe this made healing 10 times faster. His staff was also fantastic. Kori and Carrie in his office answered any and all questions I had pre and post-surgery. I just sent a text and almost immediately had a response. In addition to top notch service, the results surpassed my highest expectations. Definitely recommend Dr. Eagan to anyone considering plastic surgery. He is definitely a magician!
I’m from St. Louis, but drove to KC to have top surgery specifically with Dr. Spencer Eagan. I’m glad I followed my gut and went. The staff is personable and made me feel extremely comfortable! From the moment I went in for the consultation, to the day of my surgery. Dr. Eagan was very professional and not once did I feel weird or judged. He also does the NO DRAINS procedure, so my healing time was cut in half! I opted out of the free nipple graphs for faster healing, since I couldn’t take off work too long. I am really happy with my results! I highly recommend Dr. Eagan at Ascentist Plastic Surgery for top surgery!
Dr Eagan and his staff are very knowledgeable & helpful with my experience from double mastectomy & reconstructive surgery from previous plastic surgeon—which was not even close to normal in size or shape. (with a lot of pain) Getting a 2nd opinion was the best decision ever. Huge thanks to my oncologist team!! Surgery went smoothly & healed quickly!! I finally look myself again & feel great after one long year dealing with cancer????
I had have no words to describe the incredible experience I had with Dr.Eagan and his team! They were all very knowledgeable and very supportive! I am living my best life now truly and it is all due to Dr. Eagan!
Thank you for your question.I usually recommend getting as close as you can to your goal weight prior to surgery. You will typically get a more lasting result, and more of the excess skin can be excised. Your exam will be helpful in determining the benefit of losing those additional pounds. Find a board certified plastic surgeon near you who makes you feel comfortable.Best regards,Spencer Eagan M.D.Kansas City, KS
Based on your images, it does not look like you need a tummy tuck. You do not seem to have much excess skin. If you have had babies, you may have some stretching of your abdominal wall but even that is not overly apparent based on your images. An exam would essential in determining what if any surgical intervention you would benefit from. Liposuction is helpful for focal areas of excess fat, and the shrinking of your skin would be determined by age/skin elasticity. I would seek out a board certified plastic surgeon who can show you before an after photos of their results. Best of luck,Spencer Eagan M.D. Kansas City KS
You are correct that it is still too early to judge. I tell my patients that it takes at least 3-6 months before you will see stability of the result. Pleating and upper flap swelling tend to smooth out quite a bit with time. Congratulations on your recent procedure.Best regards,Spencer Eagan M.D.Kansas City, KS
Thank you for the question and pictures. Based on the images, you look like you are a great candidate for a tummy tuck. You will get your best result by reaching your goal weight prior to surgery, but typically 5 lbs either way will not make a difference. The more important aspect is getting to a weight that you have shown you can maintain. Make sure you see a board certified plastic surgeon who is willing to show you before and after photos of their work. Best regards,Spencer Eagan M.D. Kansas City, KS
Thank you for your question. First off, congratulations on your weight loss! Typically, you will get the best result by getting close (within 10 lbs) to your goal weight first. That being said, I am not sure if it will be feasible for you to lose 50 more pounds based on your pictures. You will want to be at a stable weight for at least 3 months. As you lose more weight, it will accentuate your excess skin. This will allow more of the excess skin to be excised and ultimately give you a better lasting result.Based on the images, you will be a great candidate for a tummy tuck and likely a brachioplasty. Make sure you see a board certified plastic surgeon who is willing to show you before and after photos of their work. Keep up the good work,Spencer Eagan MDKansas City, KS
