Thanks for the question. There's no age limit or ideal age for Tummy Tuck. Which means 53 isn't too old to have a Tummy Tuck.
Thank you for sharing your concerns.Beauty has no age! The only thing we need is that your health conditions be in perfect and stable state for surgery. With a tummy tuck I also recommend back and waist lipo to enhance your body's contour. If you wish I could also recommend a Brazilian Butt Lift. Finally I suggest that you send us pictures so I can give you better advice. Kind Regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Thanks for your question. Your age is not a limiting factor for tummy tuck surgery; your plastic surgeon will consider your overall health, physical examination, and desired result to determine if a tummy tuck is a good option for you. I've had many happy tummy tuck patients in their 60s and even 70s.
Dear sweetpolly, 53 is a relatively young age. As long as you are healthy and your internist is clearing your for surgery after performing the 'physical' on you, there is no reason to prevent you from having tummy tuck surgery. In my 28 years of plastic surgery practice, I performed hundreds of tummy tuck surgery on patients over the age of 50. My oldest patients was 78 and she did fine. So, rest assured, but do your due diligence and choose wisely. Always consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Check the before and after pictures in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive. Best of luck, Dr Widder
53 is not too old for a tummytuck. You should be able to proceed witha tummy tuck assuming you are in good health and deemed a good candidate. Be sure to consult with a Board CertifiedPlastic Surgeon to discuss your surgical options.
As long as you are otherwise healthy and a good candidate in terms of your specific anatomy there is no reason you can't undergo the procedure and get rid of some of those stretch marks. Good luck with your journey!
You are not too old for a tummy tuck! 50 is the new 40! If you are in otherwise good health, go for it.
Hello. Thanks for your question. No, 53 years old is NOT too old to have a tummy tuck. Your physical condition and other risk factors are of more concern to your BCPS than your age.
Yourage is certainly not a contraindication to having a tummy tuck. There are anumber of factors that are more important: Your general health, individual anatomy, realistic expectations, and a full understanding of the benefits as well as thepotential problems that can occur with the procedure. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon certified by theAmerican Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Societyfor Aesthetic Plastic Surgery ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. If you decide toundergo the procedure, I would suggest a medical clearance from your primaryphysician before proceeding with a tummy tuck.Robert Singer, MD FACSLa Jolla, California
You are 53 now and I assume finished with child bearing. Actually, provided you are otherwise healthy, you are at the perfect age for a tummy tuck, which is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from your abdomen and tighten the abdominal muscles. I suggest that you consult a board certified plastic surgeon for a professional opinion.
It is good to lose weight, if it is appropriate for your frame and height. if you do not want augmentation, then you could have fat transfer to the breast area or do lipsuction in the mid section or other areas until you gained weight in the breast area.
I would be very comfortable with that PTT value. Perhaps there are other factors that your surgeon is considering? Good luck and be safe.John T. Nguyen, MD, FACS, FICSDouble Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
And not touched with your procedures. If you have objective proof such as measurements, swelling will be the suspected culprit. But if you do not have measurements and it only looks wider then I would speculate that its because your tummy and thighs look smaller from your procedure.
