Liposuction upper arms, what are the real results? (Photo)

Question

I'm 20 years old and in a week will be having lipo suction of the upper arm.I've been reading that it makes your arms worse down the line quickly .makes them more saggy and messed up . I'm starting to think twice and get really scared . Even though the doctor is a great surgeon and said I have great elasticity cause my age and health also said he will be taking out about 300cc. need a few more opinions if this is really worth it cause I'd rather not do it if I'm gonna have worse results.

In my experience the skin of the upper arm responds well to liposuction. Significant excess however may leave in unwanted redundancies. In your particular case a physical examination in person would be required for a specific appraisal.

If your arms are loose, then they will likely be looser afterwards.  It depends upon a lot of things including, skin elasticity usually associated with the age of the patient, and how much fat is to be taken out. best of luck.

Being 20 years old is certainly an advantage., HOWEVER, why would you need lipoplasty at 20?Have your arms always been larger than you wanted?Have you had lipoplasty elsewhere?Have you had any major weight fluctuations throughout your life.Have you tried any NON-invasive modalities?In the end, it is NOT the procedure itself but how it is carried out.Hope this helps

In the right candidate, and in the right expert hands, arm liposuction can be done satisfactorily, but the results are never "incredible" particularly if the surgeon is trying to be safe (which is a must).  You are wise to speak with your surgeon and find out truly what the expected results are.

You are wise to have some concerns regarding liposuction of the arms. The results of liposuction in any part of the body will be dependent in great part on what happens to the skin. Skin retraction is variable and unpredictable although in most cases an experienced surgeon can get a pretty good idea as to how the skin will respond. There are some techniques that may get the skin to shrink better than others. The use of a laser has been shown through experiment to help with skin retraction.The best answer for you is to have your surgeon show you multiple examples of his work and see if you would be satisfied with those results. You can also go on line and look at various web sites.

When done correctly, liposuction of the arms should not cause a major skin problem. Skin tends to become an issue and show signs of age as we get older in general.If your doctor is competent, he or she will know what to do and take good care of you. you are young and have good skin tone or at least should, based on your age. you should get a very good result. remember, it will never be perfect. 300 cc sounds like a lot to remove, based on your photos. doing a good job with Lipo or Smartlipo takes good judgement. One does not want to remove too much or too little.david berman md
