The amount of swelling after chin and neck liposuction depends on the type of anesthesia, the severity of the original problem, the extent of surgery, and the amount of postoperative compression.  I would initiate Arnica for bruising and maintain compression and massage.

No question about it, you will experience some swelling after liposuction which will make your neck feel bigger. Also, you make experience some numbness which will also contribute to a fuller feeling. Rest easy, this will go away. The majority of patients will lose about 80-90% of the swelling by 3 weeks.

 

Submental lipo takes a few weeks to heal completely; you will be slightly swollen and bruised while you wear the compression garment to help control swelling. Best tip is to take it easy and listen to the guidance your doctor gives you.

It is expected and not at all alarming that you are swollen after your surgery. It is very common to have swelling in the jowls and under the chin after liposuction of these areas.

I would expect most swelling to be done in 1 to 2 weeks, and final results in 3 to 4 months.

 

After any surgery you will have swelling which will disappear eventually. By one week most immediate swelling is gone but overall healing may take several months.
