 Thanks so much for reaching out. It looks on the picture that your nipple has necrosed. Or at least the very superficial layer of skin has died off. Continue to speak with your surgeon to see how he wants this wound care for. Likely you will have some color changes in your nipple that will be permanent. However you can try to have it tattooed to get the color back. I would not do this until this is completely healed I would wait at least six months from surgery to do this.

It looks like you may have had superficial or partial loss of the nipple areola complex.  You should discuss care with your md.
