I would have to see pictures or examine you to make recommendations. Three to six months may be a reasonable period of time for you to realize the results of the butt reduction, but every patient may be different. A fat transfer may resolve the issue.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Hello! You are 3 months out from surgery. At this point you should have a very good idea of where your surgical outcome "lands." You should followup with your plastic surgeon for an examination and discussion of how to best deal with the issue. It may be that time and massage may do the trick. In some cases a small fat transfer can improve an area that may have had too much liposuction done. Sometimes this can be done under local anesthesia.Best of luck!
I recommend returning to your surgeon for an evaluation. If needed some fat grafting can be done to even out your hip contours. This would not be done until you have achieved your final results which is typically 9 months to a year after surgery.
The dent you’re seeing could be as simple as an inconsistency due to swelling. The final results of your mommy makeover should be visible by about 6 months after surgery. If you're still concerned with your new contours at that time, schedule a follow-up visit with your plastic surgeon.
Thank you for the question! A mommy makeover is a complicated procedure that involves extended recovery period. At 3 months post-op, you probably would not be able to observe the final results of your procedure. Most likely you're still experiencing some swelling that could be responsible for any irregularities you're observing. Swelling may take from 6 to 12 months to resolve completely. I'd recommend giving it some time to heal. If dents persist at the end of your healing process, then most likely some parts of your body haven't been liposuctioned properly. A simple revision should correct this issue. An in-person exam with a board-certified plastic surgeon is the best way to assess your needs and obtain expert medical advice. Best of luck!
Three months after a combined mommy makeover/buttock reduction procedure is still very early in the recovery process, so your results will keep evolving over the first year after surgery. The changes may be even more dramatic (good or bad) if you are losing weight during the recovery process. If there does appear to be a persistent dent or contour irregularity along your hips, that may be corrected with revision surgery - either additional liposuction/liposculpture or fat grafting, or a combination of both.Be sure to check in with your original surgeon and share your concerns about how your results are changing; together you should be able to develop a good plan for addressing any issues that come up as your body continues to heal.Hope this is helpful, and best of luck,Dr. Lim
A picture would help. You may have always had that shape and now, with surgery and weight loss, they are revealed. They can be corrected with some liposculpting and fat grafting. All the best,Talmage Raine MD
