Mini tummy tuck skin only 2 blisters formed post op 3 days. What are these blisters and will they go away? (photo)

I now post op 7 days from breast augmentation and mini tummy tuck skin only. I noticed 3 days post op I formed two blisters near incision site. Went to ps and was told they were from the tape and would pop and go away on their own. They popped but filled back up. I feel tender below the belly button.

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  Blisters tend to form as a result of shear forces applied to the skin.  This most commonly develops along an incision line due to tension on the skin combined with adhesives or bandages on the skin surface.  Most blisters resolve on their own with little intervention but as yours appear to be blood blisters it would be wise to see your surgeon for an in-person evaluation and treatment, while also receiving local wound care instructions.  Hope this helps.

Your skin may be sensitive to the skin that was used and caused those blisters. The middle of the incision gets the least amount of circulation and therefore is most sensitive. Notify your plastic surgeon how they would want you to care for them.

The blisters may have appeared from tension on the skin from tape or a dressing.  Since the blisters came back after they were treated I recommend contacting your surgeon to seek advice on how to proceed.  The portion of the abdomen that you are concerned with is usually quite sensitive.  It should improve as you continue to heal.

As mentioned by your plastic surgeon blisters can form from adhesive dressings such as steri strips . This typically goes away like any other blister and heals with minimum to no scarring . If the blister pops and unroofs you will want to keep it clean . An antibiotic ointment and bandaide is helpful but it is important to follow your plastic surgeons recommendations .
