i had my surgery about a year ago and it was noticeable immediately that one side was drastically different looking.. my right side flappes down now and looks worse than ever. also my right chest muscle doesnt seem to be getting larger with exercise like the left side. When the right side was sewn up after surgery it was sewn uneven and my skin has folded ever since. my right pectoral muscle also is still sore on the lower inside corner. i am worried that there was muscle damage

Thanks for the question and the pictures. I empathize and sympathize when a patient does not get the desired outcomes. I would likely suggest a skin excision procedure and than potentially adding some fat (fat grafting) at a later date to improve the size and shape

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and I am sorry to hear of your disappointment with your current surgical results.  A before photograph would help to understand your starting position but your chest skin was unable to shrink completely after glandular removal leaving you with excess skin around both nipples.  After a year this is unlikely to resolve and a revision procedure to excise this skin will be needed to improve your current outcome.  I would advocate seeing a gynecomastia specialist in consultation, they can walk you through your surgical treatment options.

I am so sorry that you've had such a bad experience. Based on your photos, you look as if you would benefit from having some of the extra skin removed. Possibly fat grafting to improve the look and shape. My best advice would be for you to schedule a consultation with another board certified plastic surgeon in your area, not your original doctor, to be examined in person and discuss your options. A preoperative photograph may have disclosed the necessity for skin excision at the time of the subcutaneous mastectomy for gynecomastia. The redundant skin has not contracted sufficiently as yet and may require excision.Michael Eisemann M.D.Plastic SurgeonHouston,Texas

It looks like you have excess skin and need some sort of skin excision. You would have to be seen in person to be properly evaluated.
