I am flying away on holiday three days after a scheduled juvederm filler appointment in my cheek area. I've had filler in my lips in the past and the swelling usually went down within 12 hours with minimal bruising. Should I be concerned about getting them done so close to going away?
Answer: Fillers 3 days before holiday I have numerous individuals travelling to the Uk for filler injections and flying out a couple of days later. 99 percent of the time there are no problems particularly in the cheeks, but your surgeon must make you sign a disclaimer that you will seek medical help on holiday if required. I have a list of clinics abroad that I can contact if patients have problems overseas. As you may be aware there are other more serious side effects other than bruising with fillers that may need emergency attention such as vascular occlusion.

Answer: Juvederm fillers in cheek three days before a holiday? Hello Clouds. In our office, we would feel comfortable doing this 3 days before your holiday. I find that swelling with the cheeks and mid face is not as bad as the lips, but none of this is 100% predictable. I would suggest you ask your injector for some guidance. Best wishes, Dr. ALDO :)

Answer: Cheek augmentation and Swelling-- Fillers such as Juvederm, Radiesse, Voluma; Fat; Sculptra, implants Swelling can be varied and can't be predicted. Swelling can be typical after injections and usually resolves within 1-2 weeks. I recommend injections with cannulas to limit swelling. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Juvederm swelling Hi cloudsjj,Thanks for your great question. Unfortunately, there is no way to definitively predict how long you will have swelling and/or bruising with cheek filler. In general, swelling can last up to 2 weeks, so it is possible you will still have some swelling/bruising during your holiday. However, the fact that your swelling tends to resolve very quickly is a good sign. Additionally, since lips are usually especially prone to swelling, the fact that your lips didn't swell for long is an even better sign. In the end, I think you will just have to decide whether getting the filler is worth the risk that there may be a little bit of swelling and/or bruising on your trip. Best of luck!

Answer: Juvederm before a holiday Dear Cloudsjj, Unfortunately it cannot be guaranteed that you will have no bruising or swelling post procedure. Ideally leave at least a week before flying out of the country. This will allow for most bruising and swelling to have subsided. Have a fabulous holiday
