Hello Everybody. - My dermatologist has agreed to try microbotox to treat the background redness caused by rosacea. She is quite new to doing this procedure and we are both currently looking for inputs from doctors. She will be using the Aqua gold fine touch to deliver the botox to my skin. My question is regarding to how much should the botox be diluted, any other beneficial additives? and is the treatment just continued until the divice is empty? all information would be of great help.

This is an excellent procedure and AquaGold is a very useful delivery device which is relatively painless.  2.0cc Saline15u Botox/Xeomin or 45u Dysport0.2cc hyaluronic acid filler:  Juvederm/Restylane/Beratero0.3cc 1% lidocaine

It is unlikely to cause harm but it is also not likely to make much difference.  The microbotox treatment is a very dilute solution of botox and very little if any of this will actually be absorbed by the skin reducing the effectiveness of this service.  Not that this is not the same as my patented Microdroplet Lift botulinum toxin method.

The dilutions, methods and indications were described and well documented by Dr. Bernard Hertzog and you can find the basic protocols on internet. Whether you use a single small needle for microinjections or mechanized device the concentrations are nearly identical. Good luck!

Research on Botox for Rosacea has been very positive lately - BUT they are still in the late trial stage. Botox delivered in microdosages on the skin (and not muscle) has been around since 2011 and was also called mesobotox or microbotox. In your case, the idea sounds good but I probably wouldn't experiment.Take note that this off-label usage of Botox for flushing isn't effective for all types of rosacea. For instance, if there is tearing etc., injectibles may not help
Your doctor can work out the dosages based on some of the studies. Lastly, ask your doctor about the new line of topicals effective for rosacea control.
