I did a nose job for 2 months ago.I got hit with a ball 2 days ago, it did really hurt and I visited emergency but they couldn't do anything and when the doctor told me to wash my nose I saw some blood. After that day my nose is not the same or it doesn't feel like it, could it be broken?
Answer: Trauma post rhinoplasty The nasal bones do not bear weight like the arms or legs do so they can be 'left alone' after the operation and generally heal well. When they are fractured in surgery they are usually aligned and/or narrowed for aesthetic purposes. We know that they will eventually heal with a fibrous union across the fracture line and that they become about 85% as strong as they were before the operation by 8 weeks after the procedure. So for the first 8 weeks it's best to avoid situations where the bones might be hit. It is quite common for patients to accidentally hit their nose during the recent post-op period and rarely do I see a long term problem from these incidents. There is almost always swelling that will be present for several weeks and so it's difficult to determine if there's been a fresh break but it doesn't really matter…What is important is to ice for a couple of days and take anti-inflammatories. There is no point to spending much time on evaluating things until the swelling has subsided. I have my patients return around two months after their trauma and we go from there. If the nose looks OK then there is nothing to do. If there is a persistent deviation or irregularity in the bones then we discuss options. The mere fact that the bones are 'broken' or not is irrelevant.I hope this helps you.

Answer: Trauma after rhinoplasty Thanksat this stage the main concern is that you don't have a septal haematoma!(I take it your nose has been examined internally by an Otolaryngologist) Once the soft tissue swelling has settled your nose can be assessd after 7-10 days because if you your nasal bones are deviated, they can be manipulated easily ! If left longer than 2 weeks the bones with fuse in a deformed position and you may need a formal rhinoplasty!bwJ TaheryOtolrgngologist//Facial plastic Surgeonchester/ManchesterUK
