So this is my review of my septo-rhinoplasty with Mr Tahery. Like how most reviews begin, I’ve always HATED my nose. I was never really teased about it, nor was it ever THAT bad, but I just hated it. The idea of rhynoplasty has been on my mind ever since I was 17/18, however, the risks of it always put me off. I have close family members who have been through the procedure, and it was gone TERRIBLY wrong! And it’s not always the surgeon’s fault, sometimes, even with the best surgeon, it won’t go like you want it to, which kept putting me off pursuing it! When I hit 25, I decided to do something about it, I decided to take the risk, and just go for it, so I began looking a different surgeons who specialize in Rhynoplasty. I was recommended Jawed Tahery by a family friend, and after doing a little research about him, I decided to go and see him and discuss a possibly procedure. My first opinion of him was that he was a really nice and down to earth person, and our initial conversation went really well! I was so excited and happy to have finally be doing something about my nose. 30th July was my operation, in which, medically everything went fine, and I received EXCELLENT treatment at the Nuffield Hospital in Chester. However, for those of you who have had a rhynoplasty done, you know how uncomfortable the first few nights are… 2 weeks forward, I returned to Mr Tahery and had my cast taken off. First reaction; I hated it. In fact I wanted to cry, it look TERRIBLE! However, that’s very normal after having any procedure done. After a few weeks, the nose began taking it’s shape, it changed drastically after the 6th week, and I started liking it! However, a little bump on top of my nose, as you can see in the picture, began showing. It’s not huge, but it’s visible if you were to concentrate on my nose. When I had my 6 week consultation with mr Tahery, he confirmed that he’s happy with everything besides that, and that it needs to be shaved down, in a very small and short procedure. So he I booked a procedure with him for Christmas, then changed to Easter. A few weeks before the procedure, I received a call from his assistant Lisa, telling me that Mr Tahery is not available to perform this surgery, I contacted him myself and he confirmed that he won’t be able to perform the surgery until further notice. Now, Mr Tahery has not really told me not to talk about anything, but, for legal and “good value” reasons, I choose not to disclose the conversation I had with Mr Tahery. It’s now July, and I’ve not heard anything from Mr Tahery yet regarding what's going to happen next, and to be honest, I have no idea what’s going on. His after care was good, each time I contacted him with a question he responded, and it is important to note, he did offer an alternative solution when we had our last conversation, to which I said I prefer to wait for HIM to finish off the job, and to which he said he will notify me when he can. BACK TO THE NOSE: So, am I happy with my nose? Beside the little bump, I’m very very happy with it. The procedure wasn’t 100% successful, and if someone told me that before the surgery, I would’ve ran a mile, however, I chose to take the risk. What I love most about my nose is the no one has noticed that the front has completely changed, he has done a very natural job with it and that has to be said. Would I do it again? Yes, absolutely. Even with what has happened, with everything that I have gone through physically and emotionally, I have never ever regretted my decision to have a rhinoplasty. Obviously, I can write pages and pages of my journey, however, I have decided to keep it short and simple for now! My advice: Rhinoplasty is a very very risky operation. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU GO THROUGH WITH IT. But most importantly, be prepared for it not to be 100% the way you wanted it to be. Even if you go with a surgeon who is the best in the world, there’s still risks, because our bodies react differently to outside intervention. My cousin back in my home country, did an operation with a surgeon who has a waiting list of around 2 years, and her nose unfortunately went terribly wrong. And even the surgeon was confused on why it went wrong, he tried again and it just got worse and worse. DO NOT TOUCH A SURGEON who is not specialized in facial surgery. You will be doing a massive mistake if you do. The nose is one of the most difficult features to operate on, someone who doesn’t do it frequently should not be approached! This is specially important for guys who are considering this procedure, last thing you want is a feminine nose. A bent, crooked big nose looks nicer on a guy than a perfectly straight, perfectly shaped nose with perfectly sculpted nostrils! After your operation, you’re not going to become super-confident like you imagined. Much insecurity about the nose/face is all in the head, after your surgery, often you look back at pictures of your old nose and you think, it wasn’t as BAD as you thought it was! When I was considering rhinoplasty, I received lots of advice from people on here, and I’m willing to do the same. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Obviously, my journey has not finished yet, I will keep updated once it goes any further! :-)
Hello there, I'm 24 from up the lakes. I had open rhino surgery done by Dr Tahery at transform . I am absolutely over the moon with my results & would definitely recommend him!!I decided to go with him as a friend I knew from my town had hers done by him ,her results too were amazing. It pushed me to do it. Nearly 3m on it has changed me completely. X-c Updated on 2 Jul 2017: Recent picture Sorry just woke up ????
It's now almost exactly a year since I completed my precedure. Having made correction to the way my nose looked, while always in my mind, was something that I never thought I would actually commit to. Considering the impact it can have adversely if a poor job (which I have seen plenty of!) done, I was apprehensive for years. I initually chose to cosult with Mr Tahery for his NHS background and mefical and professional expertise and I was convinced at my consultation that I was in safe hands. I went back to work 2 weeks after I completed my procedure. Although clearly I have a different profile now, and considering my job as a university lecturer, no one realised I had a precedure done! The result is truly natural despite the remarkable change. I have a beautiful nose and an exceptional profile without brining to anyone's attention that any corrections had taken place, thanks to Mr Tahery!
I had my initial consultation and am pleased to state that he is very realistic and does'nt oversell anything to you. My results are better than he stipulated and Im very pleased with the entire service, him and the results!!
A couple months ago i had the Rhinoplasty surgery done by Mr Tahery and i couldn't be more happier. Everything went as well as expected and throughout the whole process I felt assured and calm as can be in that situation. If you finally decide to go through with your procedure i would with confidence recommend him :)
I had been to many consultations before but after my first sit down with Dr Tahery I was convinced immediately that he was the person I wanted to go ahead with. He first listened to what my concerns were, my back story and what lead me to wanting to consider and go ahead with such a procedure. He then took on board everything I said and examined by nose before giving me honest feedback on where there is potential and room for improvement in my nose and the realistic expectations I could expect as a result of surgery. This was a refreshing change from everyone else i had seen as his openness and honesty proved that he genuinely cared for the patient and wanted the best for them with the realms of reality. He showed me examples of his previous work (all of which produced outstanding results) and this helped further assure me that he was the right person for the job. He gave me time to think things through and give discuss with my family and friends and told me how long the realistic recovery time is and the protocol for ensuring the healing process goes smoothly. One the day of my surgery he came to visit me before the procedure at my bed to go over what will commence and give me reassurances to calm the nerves that I had which helped greatly! After the surgery I was in a splint for 6 days and followed a instructional guide personally written up by Dr Tahery which contained all the key information and instructions post surgery to help with the healing and recovery time. I followed this all word for word and so this post operative period was much more effective in recovery time. After 6 weeks from getting me splint removed I had a follow up check up with Dr Tahery so he could track and monitor the progress of the healing and swelling and even though results are seen approximately a year into the post operative stage, my nose had already taken up the shape we had both agreed and hoped for! And over time the swelling lessened and the results got better and better day by day. The best thing you can wish for is for a person not to even realise you've had your nose worked out and that the new nose you see is natural and thats exactly what I got and couldn't be happier! Overall if you want a Practitioner who is trustworthy, true to his word, and has a genuine passion for what he does with your best interests in mind and who delivers the best results every single time then hand of heart I would recommend Dr Tahery to you. But honestly don't just take my word for it, get in contact with him and just from your initial conversation you will agree with everything I have said!
When I met Mr. Tahery for my initial consultation I knew he would be able to do a great job. He is very experienced in his field. He is very warm, kind and friendly. He has very caring personality. He listened and answered all my questions/concerns I had about the procedure and really made me feel at ease. I am now 1 month post-op, I love my new nose!!! He has done a fantastic job. I can now breathe better and have a straight nose. He clearly has a excellent eye for detail and a fantastic vision as to how your nose should look according to your face. He is obviously very artistic in his field and very passionate about his job. This comes through very well. He really genuinely cares about his patients and wants to give them the best results he can. I'm really glad Mr. Tahery did my Septo-rhinoplasty. I definitely recommend a consultation with Mr. Tahery. Thank you very much Mr. Tahery! I can't thank you enough ; ) X
Despite my original procedure being nearly two years ago and my sons just over a year ago, our surgeon was still ensuring that we were completely satisfied with the procedures. The final treatments involved using lasers to refine and remove minor blemishes. I was booked in for the treatment and my son came along on the off chance of some treatment which was also given! Fantastic customer service and we are both very please with the results!
Mr tahery is a genius! Just take a look at my photos! Anybody thinking about going for rhinoplasty with him should definitely do it. I am delighted with the results and am only 23 days post op. Mr tahery is a lovely man and I felt very comfortable with him so the whole process has been easy. He is a specialist in his field and this is exactly what you want when putting your face in the hands of someone else. From consultation through to surgery to aftercare I have nothing but positive words. Updated on 7 Aug 2016: Feeling happy and confident :) Updated on 21 Aug 2016: Updated on 21 Aug 2016: Side profile. Small bump still there but overall still delighted with my result. How much more can I expect the swelling to subside ? I'm hoping my tip will get smaller too :) it's so hard not to obsess over it ! Updated on 25 Aug 2016: On my way to see Mr Tahery for a check up. He was delighted with how I've healed :) Updated on 31 Oct 2016: Hi lovelies. I thought I would just update you all as to how I'm doing 4 months post op. I'm still loving my results. It's crazy how much your nose changes day to day though. One thing I have found very helpful is to tape my nose at night. I do this most nights with the exception of when I'm feeling lazy! When removing the tape in the morning you need to ensure you do this with care, dont just rip it off because that completely defeats the object! I usually use tweezers and peel off the tape in the shower so it's soaking wet and easily comes away. But the difference it makes is not just noticeable to me but also others around me. My nose appears more curved, tip looks smaller and is more lifted. I really notice if I forget to do this that my nose just doesn't look as small. Still obviously a huge improvement from what I was born with though. I just thought I'd share this advice with you all! Hope it was helpful if you have any questions at all leave them below and I'll do my best to respond! Updated on 22 Dec 2016: Cant believe it's almost six months since my surgery! Overall I'm happy with my results but I can still see room for improvement. Do you guys think revision surgery is worth it? Can anyone who has been through a revision surgery let me know how it went ? I just want to fine tune it a little bit but not sure if it would be worth it or give my desired results?
Post-op finally home, had my op today and I had an amazing stay at the Pines hospital Manchester. The nurses were lovely I couldn't of asked for better care or better nurses. Arrived at 8 in the morning and got taken down to theatre at around 12.10 . Theatre team were lovely. Next thing I knew I was awake and I was glad it was finally over. Had a lot of pain while I was in recovery but was given cocodamol which helped after a while. Had great care afterwards in my room. Updated on 24 Jul 2016: Kept feeling a bit on and off today would feel quite bad then would feel okay. Had a warm bath (made sure it had no steam) which was fine. Used the steramar stay for up my nostrils which I thought would hurt but was totally fine. Fell asleep for a bit before which made me feel lovely and just bathed my nose like the nurse said. I've got a bit of swelling today on my face and neck and looking a bit yellow. Updated on 26 Jul 2016: Feeling a bit weary now and getting little bits of pain. Very scared to see the result on Friday when I get my cast taken off as I still look like I have a bump. So nervous. Updated on 27 Jul 2016: Been feeling very uncomfortable and irritable today. I just want to cry with how horrible it feels , it's SO tickly/itchy under the cast its driving me mad ! Can't wait to get it off Updated on 29 Jul 2016: Just had my cast off ! Feels so weird and a little bit numb. Stitches hurt a bit when they were took out but wasn't bad. I can't wait to finally wear makeup again and feel like a girl !! Hi,I would recommend a rhinoplasty to harmonise your nose as all if you are concerned about the small nasal hump as well!Best wishesMr J Tahery ENT/Facial Plastic SurgeonChesterUK
Hi,very early days days to draw conclusions, generally the tip may drop slightly by couple of millimetres in the months to come ( more in case of open rhinoplasty) hence the slope will be less visibleBest wishes Mr J Tahery ENt / Facial Plastic SurgeonChesterUK
Hi,Filler can be used to augment nasal bridge but as far as your nasal tip is concerned, best way forward would be surgeryBest wishesJ Tahery
Hi,The earlobes would be most challenging but the other points you made are achievable!Best wishesMr J Tahery ChesterUK
Hi,thanks for your inquiry. Your piercing is not likely to have a bearing on your operation results provided you don't have a sizeable septal perforation. It would help to comment further if you provide some more pictures, but I see good potential for improvement.Best wishesMr J Tahery ChesterUK
