My nose cast fell off a day after rhinoplasty. Should I be worried about my nose shape?

Every plastic surgeon has his or her own protocol for rhinoplasty. Most of the time the cast is there to help control swelling and remind you, and everyone around you, that you just had surgery. For this reason some use a cast and others do not. Since yours used a cast, which fell off several hours after you came home, it's important that you let your plastic surgeon know what happened. He or she may have wanted you to have a cast for a reason, so please consider reaching out and making him or her aware that it came off.

Normally the cast remains in place for at least 1 week after working on the bones.  Contacting your surgeon and discussing what had occurred is the best suggestion.
