My mother and my father have both straight noses and I recently noticed that I have this hump on my nose (probably it started showing up when I was 13-14) that doesn't look very good. I don't know if it is going to go away as I still have to grow quite a lot and I have many more years to grow. It looks like it's not a hump, it looks more like my nose bone is not in line with the front part of my nose. Will my nose get straight?
Answer: Hump on nose Hello. Your hump will not go away on its own. It's a structural issue, and surgery is the only way to get rid of the hump. You could consider non surgical nose reshaping, which uses fillers to camouflage the hump. At this time, you are still too young for surgery and will have to wait a few more years if you are serious about getting surgery. Take care.

Answer: Nose hump The nasal dorsum has a small bump on it. Time will tell if this is going to get larger. You might desire a rhinoplasty in the future.

Answer: Nose hump Thank you for your clinical post and photograph. From the photograph it does appear as there is a slight overgrowth of the bony bridge of your nose, as well as a slightly stronger projected nasal tip. As you are still growing and the growth plates have not fused you can anticipate your nose will undergo some changes between now and the time of 17 or 18 years old. Even though both parents have straight bridges there may be some genetic traits that have resulted in this overgrowth or perhaps even trauma as a younger child. Regardless being 15 years old is difficult enough without concerning yourself with cosmetic surgery and be reassured that the nose will certainly change between now and cessation of growth and it may well even out the nasal bridge or appearance of the nasal bridge. In the interim you can certainly discuss things with your parents and when you’re 17 or 18 injection rhinoplasty or a 5 minute nose job can soften the bridge bump while you allow the cartilages to settle in the bony bridge to stop growing and one day when you’re a mature adult and have time to assess fully your nasofacial aesthetics and have achieved more self awareness, insight and maturity you may consider even a reduction rhinoplasty. I hope this information has been of some assistance and best of luck. For more information, please review the link below. R. Stephen Mulholland, M.D. Certified Plastic Surgeon Yorkville, Toronto

Answer: Nose hump The bump on your nose most likely will not go away. There is a possibility over the next few years it can get larger. This can be surgically corrected when you are fully mature.

Answer: Nose Hump Sorry, but the only way the hump will go away is with surgery. Talk to your parents about seeing a Plastic Surgeon to discuss correction. I know this bothers you or you would not have posted this question.
