Can wearing glasses shortly after rhinoplasty cause permanent damage?

Thank you for your question.  At 2 weeks after rhinoplasty, wearing glasses for a few minutes is unlikely to cause any problems.  Your nose will remain quite sensitive at 2 weeks, so pain does not correlate with injury.  Its obviously best to continue to follow your surgeon's post operative instructions, but its highly unlikely you caused any permanent change to the shape of your nose.  The pressure certainly can cause temporary asymmetry because of swelling.

I wouldn’t worry excessively about
having caused permanent damage to your healing nose. I would recommend,
however, that from this point on you refrain from wearing your glasses for at
least six weeks after your rhinoplasty recovery. Your surgeon will be able to
give you a better estimate as to when you can expect to wear your glasses
again, but in the meantime, consider wearing contact lenses as an alternative
to glasses. 

Due to swelling the indentations will be more noticeable and take longer to go away, but shouldn't cause any permanent damage. Be sure to discuss with your plastic surgeon his/her recommendations for when you can resume normal eyewear. Good luck! 

Unless you sustained injury to your nose, no complications should arise from wearing glasses. I routinely allow my patients to wear glasses after surgery. Hope that helps!

Wearing glasses after rhinoplasty will probably not cause any permanent damage.  However, the nose piece on the glasses will probably cause an indentation that will take longer to smooth out and thus delay your final result.  Most plastic surgeons have a protocol for their patients who wear glasses.

You stated you wore the glasses for a few minutes.  Unless you injured your nose, that should not be a problem.  In the early healing stages, I show my patients how to tape the glasses to here forehead to take the pressure off the nose to avoid an indention.
