Hate my botox results. Messed up my smile and distorts my cheeks when I smile.

You must be very sensitive to Botox as 6 units is a small amount. May be you should try Dysport next time. The Botox may last 6 to 12 weeks. See your injector for follow up. Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

I am sorry for your Botox experience.   A few things do come to mind.  10 units is a lot of Botox to inject under the eye and under the eye injections of Botox will not raise the brow.  What is perplexing is that your Botox effects should not really take place until around late day 4 into day 5 post injection.  You were able to sense problems the evening of the injections so I wonder if the side effects you have been experiencing in the early post injection period like your distorted smile are due to swelling and may subside with time.  

unfortunately it will take 3-4 months to go away.  RF treatments like venus legacy, exilis, and PDT lightstim may help speed up the healing process.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Unfortunately it appears that your photographs were unable to load appropriately in realself.  I am sorry that your Botox results have not been what you anticipated but I would advocate speaking to your injector to diagnose the cause of your current results and how it can be avoided in the future.  Best wishes. 

Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear about your Botox results. Unfortunately, your pictures did not load correctly on Realself. Without a photo or in person evaluation it is difficult to give you advice. I recommend returning to your plastic surgeon to address your concerns. 

There are multiple Botox techniques for elevating eyebrows. Treating crow's feet creases with Botox can help elevate the outer portion of the eyebrows. If you have crow's feet creases that extend on to the upper cheeks, it can weaken the nearby muscles that elevate the corner of your mouth when you smile. Botox can diffuse beyond the intended targeted muscles and can affect other muscles that can affect your smile. The inner aspect of the eyebrows can also be elevated by injecting the "frown" muscles that pull the inner eyebrows in and down. Botox's effect takes 4-5 days to become apparent. The changes you saw by the evening of your treatment would not be expected to be a result of Botox. You may want to discuss this with your doctor to better understand the appearance that you don't like. 

I always take great care to have my patients understand that there are two components to wrinkles by the corner of the eye. The upper component is the result of the ring of muscle around the eye contracting (the "true" Crow's Feet, but the lower component is the result of the cheek being drawn up while smiling. One of the two muscles which pulls the corner of the mouth up when smiling sits right next to the ring of muscle where it is injected for the "true" Crow's Feet. If your injector goes too low chasing after the "false" Crow's Feet, the smile can be affected. The "false" Crow's Feet are much better addressed with filler, in my experience. The result is temporary. Hang in there.

I am surprised that such a little amount was used for the crow's feet, but the Botox should still last longer than 6 weeks.

It's impossible to tell what is happening without photos or a direct assessment.  Even so, it's crucial that you communicate this results with your doctor so that he can see what's going on with your particular facial muscle anatomy.

You had a bad result twice in 2 months and it sounds like it was injected too low and affected the cheek muscle.  it will wear off but do not get any more until it does and you might consider changing to a more experienced doctor
