I had Botox injections 2 days ago could I be allergic?

If you have previously had 4 anaphylactic reactions, then you know that this does not in anyway sound like an anaphylactic reaction.  However, it definitely sounds like some sort of reaction.  Although it occurred in time associated with your botox treatment, it may nor may not be related to the treatment.  If your symptoms persist, I recommend contacting your injecting physician.  If you feel that the symptoms are getting worse, I recommend going to an emergency room.

I have never heard of an allergy to Botox but it does sound as if you are having an allergic reaction to something.  It could be a food, medication, or something you've applied to your skin.  Make sure to see your allergist or internist to see if you can figure out what it is, but its probably not Botox.

This is an uncommon reaction to a Botox injection. However, based on your symptoms, I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a Doctor to determine cause and if necessary treatment. Best, Dr. Emer

Where on your body or face where you injected with the Botox?  It does not sound like a typical Botox allergic reaction and unless you were injected in your hands, it may not be related.  Since you mention you have had anaphylactic shock in the past, I would recommend going to an emergency room to make sure the itching and swelling of your hands is not the beginning of an anaphylactic episode, whatever the cause.

Even though this has occurred at the same time as your Botox injections is may not be related. If your symptoms keep occurring then I recommend contacting your treating physician for an evaluation. The symptoms you describe, with hand swelling and itching after facial injection of Botox, don't sound like an allergic reaction to the Botox. It's more likely a reaction to some other allergen. It symptoms persist, then evaluation by your injector or your primary care provider would be advised.

The location of the reaction is located away from the site of injection.  Any possible effect or reaction to Botox is localized at the injection site.  Most likely this is an unrelated event for which you need to see your PCP for further evaluation.

True allergy to Botox is virtually unheard of and I have not seen this especially since your injections were not done in the area you are concerned with. Getting a more formal evaluation with your doctor to what this may be related to would be a very wise endeavor. Given your stated history of "4 true anaphylactic shock episodes" an in depth evaluation with an allergist would also be a good idea before you consider having any other treatments of any kind done in the future. 

Botox allergy is virtually non existent. If you are having an allergic reaction to the episode it could be anything that was applied to the area, but I doubt it since your face is not involved. also you are not having an anaphylactic episode which is very serious. I would say the problem with your hands is totally unrelated to your Botox injections
