I can see the area under my chin sagging & when look down it looks like I have 2 chins. crepyness in center of neck. I am a thin woman 110lbs at 5'3". plastic surgeon who said I am too young for a neck lift & recommended I try Botox for platysmal bands and/or laser to tighten. nurse who normally does my Botox gave me the Botox in the neck. She said do not do the laser as it is a waste of time and money. Botox did nothing. why won't a surgeon do a neck lift at my age? Is there any other option?

Answer: Neck lift at 47 Simply put, you are in the age range and have early indications whereby surgery would be beneficial. Since thisis more "finesse surgery", please see a Surgeon who focuses on faces.

Answer: "saggy neck" in a 47 year old woman There are few absolutes in this type of surgery and we have occasionally performed necklifts in the 45-50 year old group. If you had laxity of the jowls also perhaps a smaller jowl-neck lift would be good. The neck issues we see here could be addressed to some degree with a "submental lift" which would tighten the platysma muscle and remove a conservative amount of skin through an incision just beneath the chin. Any fat can be addressed at the same time. We would frequently do this procedure under local anesthesia. Ulthera which is an ultrasound based non-invasive skin tightening procedure could also be of use although it wouldn't treat the platysma bands.
