Is it worth using silicone scar sheets on necklift under chin scar? How soon do you have to start using them after surgery for them to be effective?
Answer: Scar Solutions with Silicone sheets--Add lasers, microneedling/prp, subcision and fillers I recommend following up with your Dr. about their after care protocol following a neck lift. Any subsequent scarring can be improved with a combination of lasers, microneedling/prp, subcision and fillers. Best, Dr. Emer

CONTACT NOW Answer: Recommend applying Plato's Scar Serum twice daily to scars Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Silicone Scar Sheets You may begin using the sheets as soon as the wound is mostly healed (usually around 6 weeks). I don't normally have my patients use the sheets and their wounds heal very nicely. I would make sure you allow you scar to naturally heal and only use the sheets after following up with your doctor. Hope this helps.

Answer: Scar gel for neck lift chin incision Thanks for sharing. Normally i do not have patients use silicone scar treatments. However, if I do or the patient desires the silicone gel is easier to apply and conceal here than a silicone sheet. Typically apply day after the sutures are removed and needs to be used for at 6-10 weeks depending on the situation. Follow up with your doctor for any concerns and your wish to use scar prevention or treatment.
