You seem to be making every move you can to make your chin/neck look worse, including using some unfavorable lighting. Moreover, it's normal to have skin gather up when you look down and liposuction will not prevent this from happening. That said, chin liposuction will help to carve out a nicer jawline and improve your profile a bit. I happen to use Smartlipo, but any of the energy based systems will give you a nice improvement. Find a Board Certified doctor who does a lot of these near you and see what they think based on an in office evaluation.Good Luck!
Hello and thank-you for sharing your question and photos.Liposuction and Jplasma powered by Renuvion (cold plasma energy to tighten skin) of the chin and neck produces consistently great results for appropriate candidates. I think this would be a great option for you.I would suggest an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon well-versed in all aspects of facial rejuvenation in your area to learn about your options.Best wishes, Andrew Lyos MD, FACS
It is normal for many patients to lower their head and simulate a double chin. You appear to be an excellent candidate for chin and jawline liposuction. You do not appear to have an abundance of loose skin and jawline liposuction would provide you with a youthful, well contoured jaw and chin.
It is very normal for the chin to appear to have more fullness when looking down. It's the reason you don't see "selfies" from this perspective. Some people do like to refine the chin and jawline. This can be a subtle change, but it can create a natural but dramatic looking result. There are many options, including non-surgical options for reducing fullness under the chin. However, nothing is more predictable or creates a more complete change than liposuction. In fact, because non-surgical methods of fat reduction under the chin require multiple treatments, liposuction can often be less expensive. The recovery period for chin liposuction can be very comfortable. It is very important to select a board-certified plastic surgeon with expertise in this surgery. Liposuction is sometimes promoted as an "easy" surgery. In fact, expertise and finesse is required for great results.
It can be very helpful to have some liposuction there. There is always some skin folding when one looks down but it can help. Best wishes
To make a determination about being a candidate for chin liposuction, the head is kept in a chin neutral position and examined from all angles. When flexing your neck downward, any fat that is present will be bulging due to the position of your neck structures
Prominent fat under the chin is difficult to get rid of even with exercise and dieting. Liposuction can be a wonderful option for a more defined jaw line even in young patients.
Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years. From the photos, your chin is very weak and there is a slight amount of excess fat under the chin. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin". Proper placement of a silastic chin implant adds forward projection to the chin thereby creating harmony and balance to the lower face. Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck. Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty (requires extensive tissue dissection, bone cuts and placement of metal screws and plates to secure the cut segments of bone). I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery combined with submental (below the chin) liposuction. In contrast, reducing the slight amount of fat under the chin by itself using any method would provide minimal improvement since no forward chin projection would occur....this means the weak chin would not be corrected.Hope this helps.
A double chin when looking down is normal. You have a wee bit of fullness in the neutral position. Carefully managed liposuction would improve this. Seek out a consultation from a board-certified expert. Best wishes.
