How long before numbness goes away after chin lipo?

I had chin lipo and cheek fat removal 2 weeks ago I used my compression garment for the 1st week 24/7 only removing it to shower. I have continued to wear it for this second week nights only. I notice my chin area and right side of face are still numb. I have read it is normal for swelling to occur and that it should improve within 3 weeks, but is the numbness normal? How long until it goes away?

It is not uncommon that patients present with some numbness after chin liposuction. The duration of this symptom depends on the patient's own body ability to heal. Some patients experience numbness for few days after the procedure. Other patients could feel numbness for several weeks or more than a month. 
Patients with questions and concerns about their chin liposuction healing process should address those concerns with the surgeon that performed the operation, ideally during a follow up consultation.

It´s great that you are taking good care of yourself and adhere to the use of the compression garment. Numbness is very common after having liposuction in any area, this may due to several factors including manipulation, inflammation and injury to small nerves that give sensation to the skin (which is expected in a liposuction), fortunately, most patients recover sensitivity over time and the numbness goes away as inflammation decreases and this nerves heal. It´s very difficult to establish how long will it take in each patient, it has been only 2 weeks after your surgery so it´s still very soon. Usually it will take 2 more weeks to these symptoms to improve progressively, however, less frequently numbness can extend from 3 to 6 months. Don´t worry, I´m confident that you will get better soon, my best advice is to continue following your surgeons indications.

Numbness can sometimes persist for 3-6 months after liposuction.  Don't worry, enjoy your results, and keep up with your post-operative care.  Hope this helps.

You may feel numbness for 4 to 6 months.   This is normal and expected.  Follow up with your surgeon so he can monitor your progress.
