Kybella didn’t work for me. Should I get chin lipo, a neck lift, or something else to get a defined jawline?

For a more defined jawline to strengthen your profile (and help prevent the dreaded jawline "jowl" sagging), we use injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa - a filler known to limit swelling and give subtle, soft enhancements - or Radiesse. Using a cannula to limit pain and swelling, we inject on the bone in strategic points to get more lift and shaping, resulting in a more contoured lower face and defined, structured jawline. When kybella doesn't work on patients with double chin, with good skin elasticity and no soggy neck skin ( turkey neck), liposuction is a great option to get rid off the double chin and enhance the jaw line. In my practice, this procedure is routinely performed under local anesthesia as an outpatient office procedure. The downtime is minimal and the results are virtually immediate. 
If patients have saggy neck skin in addition of double chin, then another different procedures (in addition to chin liposuction) like NeckTite or neck light might be necessary to address these physical findings.

Liposuction and Jplasma powered by Renuvion (cold plasma energy to tighten skin) of the chin and neck produces consistently great results for appropriate candidates. I think this would be a great option for you.

Kybella has its role in facial cosmetic surgery, but many times doctors who perform Kybella don’t do surgery. Is this the case with you? I suggest you see an experienced facial plastic surgeon who can offer other procedures for neck contouring. Laser assisted treatments such as Precision TX is a minimally invasive procedure that can remove fat and tighten skin. A newer treatment is available called Renuvion Jplasma which can be combined with liposuction to improve neck contour. Inquire about these. I wish you the best!

There are plenty of surgical and non-surgical options, in addition to Kybella, that can create a more refined chin and jawline. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to determine your candidacy.  In our practice, we do not recommend Kybella for the same issues that you've experienced. A full set of pictures and an in-person examination is going to be required to make a determination about how much fat is located in the chin area. A small amount of fat located above the platysma muscle can be removed with simple liposuction. If the fatty deposits are located below the platysma muscle, then surgery is required to remove that  fat in addition to a platysma-plasty.  Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including facial shaping using liposuction, dermal fillers, silastic facial implants and facelifts for over 30 years.  Non smiling, resting photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation.  Direct liposuction remains the "gold standard" which means it's the most effective and reliable method of reducing unwanted fat.   I have performed many Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years.  When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin".  
 Proper placement of a silastic chin implant adds forward projection to the chin thereby creating harmony and balance to the lower face.  Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck.  Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision.  
 I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty (requires extensive tissue dissection, bone cuts and placement of metal screws and plates to secure the cut segments of bone).  I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone.  If the chin is weak, no amount of fat or skin removal (from under the chin) will provide the necessary forward projection to correct the weak chin.  This will require chin augmentation with a dermal filler or a silastic chin implant.
