Am I candidate for a breast lift without implants? (photo)

Question

I was a 32DDD and swelled to a 36G while nursing my 2 kids. Now, 4 years after he last feeding, my boobs are saggy with stretch marks. I don't want implants, I think I have enough volume, just not in the right place. Is it possible to get a breast lift without implants?

Dear HeatherWednesday,
my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

Absolutely. If your goal is to get perkier breasts, then a breast lift would be sufficient. Breast augmentation would only be recommended if you’d like to be larger or achieve a significantly rounder shape.

Hi there! Thanks for your question. You are absolutely a candidate for a mastopexy (breast lift) without implants. I think the real determining factor would be what your expectations are. If you are ok with having smaller breasts and just using the tissue you have available, then that would be a great option for you. However, if you are looking for more fullness/volume you may need a small implant to achieve your desired size. I would recommend a consultation in person with a board certified plastic surgeon. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.

Anyone who is a candidate for a breast lift does not need implants. Implants are used either for enhancement in upper pole fullness and projection, increasing size, or both.

Yes, you would do well with just a lift since you have a nice volume of breast tissue for your size. Don't let anyone talk you into implants if you do not want them.

Thank you for your question. Based on the photo submitted, you would be an optimal candidate for a breast lift alone. Using modern techniques, you would be able to obtain great results with optimal upper breast fullness and projection of the breasts. I would suggest a lift alone and if you still want more fullness after the lift (+6 months) then add a small implant at that time.

Based on you pictures and the information provided, I think you would be a good candidate for just a lift. The question is what you are looking to achieve post-op. If you are happy with the overall size of your breasts but not the shape then a lift is your answer. If however you want to go bigger, then you would need an augmentation as well. I would recommend starting with the lift, an augmentation can always be performed later on if you decide you want to go bigger. In my opinion you would have a great outcome and your breasts would look very nice once healed with just a lift alone.
