This is very frequent problem when neck liposuction only is done; removal of superficial fat exposes underlying muscle bands. For the time being you should try Botox to treat and soften platysma muscle bands and possibly reduce scarring. Depending of the outcome of Botox treatment, you may consider neck lift to treat underlying muscle bands, definitely not sooner than 1 year after liposuction. At this point, you might consider injections of a neuromodulator like Botox into these lines on the neck. These treatments affect the platysma muscle, smoothing out the lines in the process. If this does not produce the results you want, or you continue to experience the side effects you have now, I recommend a consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. It is possible you may need a surgical neck lift to achieve the best possible outcome.

Many doctors are overly defatting the neck with Ultherapy, liposuction, Kybella, laser liposuction and radiofrequency in an effort to make the submental area look better and 'tighten' skin. Not a week goes by without me seeing a patient who has had their neck and/or face overly defatted.

So what is the solution to a double chin or skin looseness in the neck?

With significant neck sagging you would need a neck/face lift with muscle tightening (platysmaplasty). at the same time lasers (fraxel,  co2 or erbium( or microneedling RF (fractora, intensif) can be . performed to improve the crepe skin or wrinkles.  You need a formal consultation, as the neck can be treated with a combination approach:
1. micro needling and lasers for texture
2. botox, disport or xeomin to help platysmal bands

Botox (Dysport) can soften the bands and lasts about 4-5 months. It is quick and easy to undergo. It takes about a minute to do and is almost painless.

Poor results from laser Lipo with banding. I understand your frustration and you don’t state when u had this done. I would need to feel your neck and then decide when to do a platysmaPlasty. Based on 50 years of Facelifting you will probably need this to flatten the bands.

It’s looks like your platysmal bands are visible. It’s always helpful to show pre operative photos so it’s easier to see the time course of events. Anytime fat is removed, structures beneath it become more visible. This is an expected outcome and not a complication. This is also why pre op photos are important. If these were not visible before surgery, it would be hard to inform patients in advance of the possibility. If they were visible before, preop counseling about other procedures could’ve taken place. Botox could treat the bands. Pain is unusual after several months and physical examination is necessary before advising treatment.

Sorry for your problem and those may be platysma bands the get be relieved with Botox injections, but an examination is needed. iSo go on some consultations with experts and compare recommendations after a full examination

Suggesting that you do your own research and turning you loose is in my opinion a shocking abdication of the responsibilities of a physician.
The lesson here is that you shouldn't see doctors who don't know how to treat the complications of treatments that they do.

You need a course of low dose steroids injected into the neck bands.
