Ok, the aging of my face is relatively on par with my actual age. But I am SO self conscious about my neck. It looks aged and angry. Is there surgery to correct this? If so, what is it called? I have put a lot of Botox in them once or twice and loved the results, but honestly I cannot afford to sustain the cost (1) and (2), I'm always secretly scared because we hit so far down & close to the throat. I just want a permanent fix. :-(
Answer: Is there a surgery to correct my platysmal bands? Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. The best treatment would be to pursue surgery to address the banding to not only repair any laxity along the midline of your neck but also to cut the bands to prevent them from being able to tighten and animate. Based on the overall condition of your neck I would likely continue neuromodulators for now. Hope this helps.

Answer: Potential Options The issue after weight loss is sagging skin. The best option usually is surgery to lift and remove the excess skin. Surgeries after weight loss include neck lift, facelift and browlift. Which surgery will give you the best results is best determined during a consultation with an experienced surgeon. A neck lift will address the neck but you want to make sure that once the neck is lifted it matches the rest of your facial features. A neck lift alone may be sufficient but other procedures such as a facelift or browlift may be necessary, to get a natural harmonious beautiful result.

Answer: Platysmal Bands Hello, looking at your pictures, you head positioning is making your sternocleidomastoid muscle appear very prominent. In the pictures you provided, the platysma muscles are not that prominent. You do not want the muscles that appear to be the most prominent impacted by any surgery. This is the value of a face to face consultation. This can be explained in greater detail. Any surgical cost for your platysma muscle banding would be more expensive than periodic use of neurotoxins. When the time is right, a surgical procedure would be the correct thing to do. Hope this helps. Sincerely, Michael Kulick MD San Francisco
