How to get rid of frog-like neck long-term and tighten my neck and jowls? (Photos)

In 2017 I had thyroid surgery to remove a tumor and half my thyroid. I had gained 60 pounds over the 3 years and recently I have lost 40 pounds. June 2019 I had Kybella injections to help with my double chin. I feel like it wasn't effective and I don't wish to go this route again. Under my chin has gotten worse since I lost weight it seems like. I'm wondering about options that can get rid of this long term + help tighten my neck and jowls. I am 26. Thank you for your help!

Hello and thank you for your question. Weight changes like yours can lead to skin laxity, even in younger patients. If you have loose skin as well as the fat deposit, you might benefit most from a combination of neck liposuction to remove the submental fat and a surgical neck lift to address the excess skin. It is also possible you have a recessed chin, although it is difficult to tell for sure from the photos provided. If that is the case, the addition of a chin implant during your procedure could bring your profile into proportion and put the finishing touch on your jaw contouring. I recommend scheduling a consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can perform a comprehensive examination and create a customized treatment plan based on your specific needs and goals.

Based on these photos you seem to be a candidate for neck lift. Through a small incision underneath the chin fat tissue can be removed, platysma muscle arranged, jowls and jawline cleaned with liposuction. Neck liposuction is performed if there is isolated fat in the neck below the jawline. Fat in the neck not only camouflages the sharp angle between the neck and jawline, but the weight of the fat pulls the tissue down faster over time. The limited photographs demonstrate a significant fat  deposits in the neck located above and below the platysma muscle  in addition to a recessive chin profile.  Consider placement of a chin implant along with a neck lift procedure.  A neck lift accomplishes removal of fat deposits above and below the platysma muscle in addition to the platysma plasty to significantly improve the jawline.  No skin removal is required at age 26.
