Also, will I get some kind of treatment afterwards to stimulate my collagen? Lilian El-Doufani - agee 58, almost 59 I'm trying to gauge whether there will be any 'extras' that I need to pay for afterwards, you see. For example, is VAT and so on all included in the price quoted? I have savings but not income so I cannot go beyond my budget. I need to know in advance.
Answer: If I have a Facelift, will my eyes go up at the sides - making me look oriental? No, but you might look Asian. Sorry, but my daughter the PhD in English would say "Rugs are oriental; people are Asian." So with that out of the way, I will answer your question seriously.Facelift surgery virtually never pulls up the corners of the eyes, but eyelid surgery done at the same time as facelift certainly can. So if you are only having a facelift, the answer is a resounding and very reliable "No!"VAT is not added in the USA, but you can and should receive a complete cost quote at the time of your plastic surgical consultation. Make sure it includes the surgical facility charges, the cost if your surgeon takes an "extra" 15 minutes or hour to complete your surgery (yes, there are additional charges and you will receive a bill later), and who pays for touch-up or revisionary surgery, including complications such as bleeding. If your budget is so fixed as to be bargain-shopping, you may wish to reconsider having elective surgery. Thinking "Nothing will happen to me" is a time-honored way to ignore the cost (both in time and dollars) of suboptimal outcomes from budget surgeons or wannabee "cosmetic surgeons" that are not fully-trained ABPS-certified plastic surgeons (why do you think they charge less?) or complications.Healing is itself stimulating collagen, so you don't "need" extras. Spend your time and hard-earned limited dollars on the best and most experienced ABPS-certified plastic surgeon you can find. Best wishes! Dr. Tholen

Answer: Orientation of eyes A facelift really shouldn't change the orientation of the eyes. I would recommend speaking to a board certified plastic surgeon about your concerns, goals, and budget for surgery. They can tailor a treatment plan in line with your expectation and budget. All the best,

Answer: A properly executed facelift will not introduce changes to your basic features. There's no reason why a properly executed facelift will leave you with change in orientation of your eyes. After the specific procedures are chosen that are proper for your particular aesthetic problems the surgeon will give you the cost of the procedure.

Answer: Change in the eye shape as a result of the face lift Facelift should not change the eyelid shape and often it improves the lower eyelid slightly. All the costs are discussed in advance and there should not be an addition surgery fees. You should discuss your concerns with the surgeon whom you choose.Good Luck.

Answer: Facelift and eyes Thank you for your question. If you are doing a facelift to address the lower face/neck region, then an isolated facelift should not affect the direction of the eyes. As for the cost, I would recommend you ask your surgeon's office that you are in need of the total cost before proceeding. There are some additional costs after the procedure for things like medications, dressings, scar therapy gels/creams, etc. I would also ask what is the policy should a complication arise that requires operative intervention.
