I have lost 40 pounds recently from dieting and going to the gym, I started to notice some bags under my eyes, I tried home remedies, but they don't go away is there any way to get rid of them permanently without surgery. P.S I am very insecure about them.
Answer: Dramatic Weight Loss Can "Unmask" Age-Related Volume Loss; Dermal Fillers Can Help To better understand what is going on, it might be best to think of the face as being composed of an under-layer of a number of distinct fat pads (e.g. for the cheeks, brows, etc.), which are subject to usual, gradual, age-related volume loss and a more superficial layer of fat that is subject to fluctuations in volume related more to weight gain or weight loss. Now picture the "seemingly dramatic, almost overnight" appearance of aging, like bags or jowls, that can occur after a large, forty pound weight loss has "unmasked" the underlying age-related volume loss. And that's what typically happens to people who have lost large amounts of weight over relatively short periods of time; they appear to have suddenly aged over night (although the reality is that they have not aged any faster than anyone else because of the weight loss). Filler, to replace the underlying volume deficit, is therefore a quick and easy way to deal with the eye bags in this case, and in the hands of an experienced injector typically gives rise to an immediate "Wow!" reaction right after treatment. Make sure to consult with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist and to ask to see his/her personal before and after photos of under eye filler treatments. Best of luck, and congratulations on the weight loss.

Answer: Dark Circles/Eye Bags/Wrinkles - Fillers (Belotero, Juvederm Volbella); Lasers (Fraxel/CO2); Renuvion; Microneedling/PRP; Peels At home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (MTS roller with anteage MD ampules) should be started now. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles. A surgical option to remove skin and/or fat will such as lower eyelid blepharoplasty with or without fat pad repositioning will be the best long term. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles without surgery. Non invasive less downtime options such as fillers (Belotero, Juvederm Volbella), lasers (Moxi/Halo/Fraxel/CO2), Renuvion (J-Plasma), microneedling/PRP, stem cells and microneedling RF like Fractora PiXel8 or Morpheus can all help give some improvement. Accutite can often be used or stronger lasers like erbium or co2 spot treatment can tighten the skin and give very quick improvement in wrinkles and texture. A surgical option to remove skin and/or fat might be the best solution long-term. I suggest you get a formal consultation to see what is best for you and your goals. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Rejuvenating the area under the eyes: What you need to know Thank you for providing a photo along with your question. Weight loss, along with the natural aging process, can make under-eye hollowing more pronounced. Fortunately, there are non-surgical options for rejuvenating the eye area. Dermal fillers, such as Restylane and Belotero, can dramatically improve the appearance of deep tear troughs. These fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that is naturally produced in the human body. By injecting small amounts of filler around the tear trough, the skin will become plump and supple, lifting the skin and smoothing out the visible groove in the skin. To learn more about fillers and how they can rejuvenate your appearance, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with extensive experience with injectables. Your surgeon can also ensure you achieve the best possible results.

Answer: Eyelid bags Weight loss does not produce eyelid bags. However, weight loss can decrease some volume in the mid face which can make the bags appear bigger. Two options to improve the bags: 1) Filler 2) Lower eyelid blepharoplasty surgery. Best to see an eyelid expert to discuss your goals.

Answer: Under eye bags Congratulations on your weight loss! Sometimes when a significant amount of weight is lost, facial volume is lost as well. This can lead to the concerns you are experiencing. Fillers are often used in this case to restore volume and even out contour irregularities. The treatment is done in the office and the results last approximately one year depending on choice of filler. See an expert injector near you for treatment.
