Swelling after SculpSure, what can I do to reduce it?

Swelling and tenderness is not common after this procedure. However, every patient is different and post procedure swelling and tenderness can occur. This will subside in 2 to 3 weeks. Good hydration with cool packs will enhance your healing.

Patients can experience mild swelling, soreness and/or redness initially after treatment.  Most of our patients who experienced any discomfort, reported all side effects subsided in the first 3-5 days.  Although, there are some occasions patients experience these side effects for up to 2 weeks.  Discomfort can be easily relieved with a chilled towel and/or compression.  Keep in mind, everyone's body responds differently and it's always important to have your doctor monitor your progress.  

SculpSure experiences can vary but in general the swelling can be seen after the first week and can last upto 3 weeks.  Then sometimes you may need to massage after that.  Soreness is usually only present the first or maybe (very rarely) the second week.  I usually recommend keeping hydrated so you body can clear the dead fat easily, but don't over do it!  That may cause you more swelling for the short term.

Some patients do feel tenderness and have nodules after Sculpsure treatments.  The nodules are from the destroyed fat cells which are being processed and removed naturally from your body's lymphatic system (inflammatory response). They are temporary and can last for a few days/weeks which varies individually.  You are doing the right thing by drinking more water and massaging twice a day.  Your body is responding to the treatment and you should get great results.  

It sounds as if you are doing what you need to do although you may want to consider adding a professional lymphatic massage to your repertoire. For most patients, the swelling and tenderness only lasts for a few days so my hope is that you should be back to normal in plenty of time for your event, but every patient does heals at a different rate. Hi NYCgirl20 - typically, tenderness and swelling lasts no more than several days.  However, I have had patients who complained for a couple of weeks before it went away.  As others have said - lots of fluids and lots of massage.  One thing I did when having my abdomen done was to massage every time I was at a stop light in traffic.  I also suggest my patients look into having a lymphatic massage (a special type of massage) that can help with this.  Best of luck to you!

Swelling after Sculpsure is unusual.   Cool compresses, massage and hydration should improve your symptom as well as time.   I would be expect it to resolve prior to your event.  

Any significant swelling following SculpSure is not common, however you are doing the right things. Cool compresses a few times a day can help with the swelling but other than that you'll just have to wait it out - I expect it will resolve over the next few days. In terms of tenderness, it varies from person to person but can last up to two weeks, although like the swelling, will diminish with time.

The swelling after SculpSure will only last a couple of weeks.  You are doing the right thing with fluids and massaging twice/day.  You should be fine for your event.
