Can Sculpsure reduce buttock size?

Sculpsure is a noninvasive 1060nm diode laser treatment that removes up to 25% of stubborn fat in the treated area in 25 minutes.It is FDA approved for the abdomen and flanks. It is safe if you get pregnant in the future.

The body contouring effects are seen in as quick as six weeks with final results at 12 weeks.

The results are permanent as long as you maintain your weight and health.

The laser targets and destroys the fat cells only which are then naturally removed from the body. Since the laser does not affect the skin or muscle it can be used on all skin colors and there has been no reported incidents of burns when treated by a properly trained physician. It is protective since it alternates heating and cooling.

It has four applicators that can be customized to treat the areas of stubborn fat.

If a second treatment is needed we wait at least six weeks and usually closer to 12.

If you notice lumps after (which I've never seen) I would recommend massage. You should also alert your surgeon.  No compression garment required.

There is no downtime and you can resume your normal activities right after the treatment. There may be some soreness in the area for a few days for which you can take ibuprofen or tylenol. A cold compress can also be used.

Sculpsure is not used for skin tightening however some of our patients have seen this. If more skin tightening is needed we have combined this with thermi or Ulthera for a complete treatment. Sculpsure is recommended for stubborn areas of fat that are not being lost by diet and exercise. It is not a weight loss treatment

Since I have both a coolsculpting and sculpsure I am working on protocols of utilizing both of these depending upon what areas need to be treated and the response to the treatment.

I have used sculpsure on other areas other than the abdomen with very good results.

I also use a Vectra 3D imaging system to try and show people what their treatment areas could look like.

Sculpsure can be used to reduce stubborn areas of fat, but lacks body shaping that a hi definition procedure like VASER HI DEF liposuction can offer. I use VASER with ThermiRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal and skin tightening to not only improve the size of the butt but to provide lift as well. This combination can give a reduction in size, ie liposuction can be done if there is enough fat on the buttock. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hi definition physique expert. Sculpsure was approved for treatment of the abdomen and flanks. However, there are many off label uses that include any areas of the body where there is excess fat. I have used sculpture on the upper arms, thighs, breast rolls and buttocks. I have seen improvement in all these areas. Remember, 3 treatments may be necessary and you can expect only a 25% improvement.

While SculpSure is FDA approved for treating the flanks (aka the "saddle bags"), using it on the buttocks would be considered off-label. Also, keep in mind, that SculpSure would only work to remove fat cells. It would not in any way affect your musculature so you need to be certain that fat in the buttocks is actually your issue. Schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area who does SculpSure to be assessed in person and discuss the best body contouring procedure for you.

SculpSure can be used for “off-label” treatment of fat anywhere on the body, including the buttocks.  The fat needs to be enough to be “pinchable”.  Please keep in mind, the SculpSure will only minimize the fat in the area, leaving a muscular build unaffected. Consult with a physician offering the treatment to determine if you are in fact a candidate for the procedure.

Thank you for your question.  Sculpsure is a great treatment for permanent non invasive fat removal and it is FDA approved for treatment of stomach and love handles, which leads to great body contouring outcomes.  It does not mean however, that it cannot be used in other areas as "off label" because if it works in one area it will work in another as long as you are a candidate, have realistic expectations and find an expert provider who will explain all of this at the time of your consultation.  Your question is very body type specific and I strongly suggest you see an expert SculpSure provider in your area for an evaluation. While SculpSure can be used off-label for pretty much an area below the neck, I have not performed the procedure on the buttocks, nor do I know of a doctor who has. This is not to say it could not be done, it just is not a common area to treat. I would advise an in-person consultation with a SculpSure provider (preferably one who has performed SculpSure on the buttocks) to determine if this would be feasible or not.
