How many surgeries would I need for a mommy makeover including a breast lift, tummy tuck, thigh lift and arm lift?

As mommy makeover operation is a combined surgery, it would be better to see your pictures to give a better consultation and quotation. We generally combine tummy tuck, liposuction and breast operations for mommy makeover but first, we need to understand your needs.

Thank you for your question. You have asked about combining thigh lift and Armlift with the usual Mommy makeover procedures (tummy tuck and breast lift) and also varicose veins. First of all I would get varicose veins done and wait for full recovery. Mommy Makeover can be done following this and can sometimes be combined with arm lift, unless the surgeries are extensive. I prefer to do thigh lifts separately and after the other procedures. I would wait for two to three months between the procedures,

Babybleau I appreciate your concerns and desires, however photos or virtual consultation would be helpful to provide a more detailed answer for you.The key to your question involves length of surgical time for your procedures. For safety purposes, board-certified plastic surgeons limit outpatient operations to six hours. With that in mind, I would recommend doing your tummy tuck and breast lift during the first setting, shortly there after it would be a good idea to address your varicose veins. Approximately six months after that you should be ready for your thigh lift and brachioplasty. Come see me or another board-certified plastic surgeon in our area to explore these options. Good luck.

I wouldn’t combine those procedures. That is not a Mommy Makeover, an artificial cage term. The most commonly associated procedures are Breast augmentation or lift, and some combination of Liposuction, Tummy Tuck and BBL.  Arm o thigh lift should be reserved for separate procedures.  Safety first. 

The lactation process which usually requires six months after weaning hould be complete before having a breast lift. 
The MM is a combination of procedures designed to bring a woman’s body back to the way she looked prior to pregnancy. Most commonly some variation of a TT and Breast Surgery is performed. Additional procedures can include liposuction. In healthy patients, TT with muscle repair and breast lift can be performed together safely. The surgeries may be performed in combination as long as the surgery is limited to 6 hours. The ability to combine multiple plastic surgery procedures is the best thing about the MM, so the best thing to do is to seek out a local surgeon for consultation and ensure that he/she is board certified.
 Schedule the arm lift, and thigh lift, six months later.

Hi Babybleau  I agree with the doctor below that it might be too much to do all surgeries at one sitting. I am more concerned with the amount of time on the operating room table and the increased risk for a blood clot in your legs with such a lengthy surgery.Again, as the other doc has noted, most women like to have the breasts and the tummy taken care of first. I think that it might not be a bad idea to take care of your varicose veins first to avoid having blood pool in the legs. Laser therapy is not bad for destruction of small veins and the larger veins in your legs should take care of the blood flow in your legs better. Thank you for the interesting questions. First, please wait til after you are healed from your body contouring surgeries for the varicose vein removal. Let's not interfere with your blood flow from your lower extremities, especially when undergoing a thigh lift. For the staging of the procedures, there are multiple options. I find that patients typically wish to have the breasts and tummy done at the time of the first procedure. These are commonly performed together and have excellent results. At the time of the second surgery, many will get legs and arms done at the same time. If this is too much for you and your lifestyle, these can also be staged, with either the arms or legs done first and the other later.I advise against having all 4 areas done at the same time. The recovery is too difficult, the case time is too long, the surgeon's attention isn't as focused. I know it is appealing to think of saving money, but consider the risks.

Surgery should wait until six months after you have finished breastfeeding.  This will allow time for your breasts to fully return to baseline.  The procedures that you mentioned could be broken into two stages.  Having all four at the same time would be too much in terms of surgical time as well as difficulty in recovery.  I encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation.  Together you can customize a surgical plan that's right for you.
