I am 29 years old, 5'2, 157lbs. I have alot of stretch marks on my stomached. I am planning to have lipo in April and I am wonder how my stretch marks will look after that and how much will cost because some doctor tell me diferent price so I'm confused
Answer: Will my stretch marks improve after lipo? No two plastic surgeons charge the same price for all of their procedures. The pricing varies on location (higher cost of living in the city usually means higher prices) and experience of the surgeon (the more well known the surgeon is the more they tend to charge). Stretch marks are actually damage to the dermis of the skin. Stretch marks once formed can get lighter but they don't go away. After liposuction the excess fat is removed but the loose redundant skin is left behind. When skin has stretch marks, it doesn't really tighten after liposuction. Therefore, the stretch marks can look worse because the skin is loose and hanging with stretch marks. Just make sure that you talk to your PS and that your expectations are realistic, so that you are happy after the procedure.

Answer: Lipo vs. Tummy Tuck Lipo will not improve your stretch marks, and they could look worse. I agree that a tummy-tuck will remove the damaged skin and give you an overall better result. Lipo will flatten your stomach such that you will look better in clothes. Costs vary depending on procedure and surgeon. Good luck

Answer: Surgical options It's difficult to tell from the photo if liposuction of any type will correct the problem that bothers you. When people have good thick skin elasticity in the area and the area is just fat then liposuction should definitely address the problem. In your picture you can see there are stretch marks and loose skin, and possible separation of the underlying muscles that are causing the problem, SmartLipo or any other form of liposuction are unlikely to help. See a board certified plastic with an expertise in body contouring in your area for a detailed consultation. They should be able to answer your concerns more specifically. In my practice in the San Francisco Bay Area I have come to the conclusion that the happiest patients are those that have realistic expectation on what a procedure will and won’t do for them. Good luck! Dean Vistnes.

Answer: Stretch marks and liposuction There is no treatment for stretch marks. Liposuction may in fact make stretch marks more prominent. You appear to be a better candidate for a tummy tuck than for liposuction. Your stretch marks will never improve with liposuction. My Best, Dr C

Answer: Stretch marks and lipo your stretch marks will not go away with lipo. liposuction will help improve shape and contour in that specific area. prices vary for location, and if you do multiple areas or if it is done in an office setting (and not at the hospital).
