My facelift was 4-30-18. I am on day 5 now and is amazing to me the changes day by day. I had decided when I turned 60 that I would like to do something about the jowls and turkey neck that were beginning. I found RealSelf.com and started reading others experience and gaining advice. I had decided on Dr Harley in NC but decided against after learning he does not sedate, only pills to make you sleep. The valium only makes me hyper and more alert which is something my sis and I share. That would be a nightmare to experience in my opinion. I saw 3 Dr near me in N Ga and felt most comfortable with James Leake at Plastic Surgery Center of the South in Marietta Ga.A neighbor of a friend who had neck lift done was happy and her being a nurse gave made me trust her choice. Myself and 3 friends got free consults from him and 2 had their facelifts 6 mo ago. They both look amazing. I asked Dr Leake if he would discount, that I wanted to share my experience on RealSelf.com and he took $1,200 off to make it $8,396.00 for 2 Layer MACs w Lipo to neck and Jowls. That price was good for 6 mo. Unfortunately I had to get 3 teeth worked on and had flu 3 times which delayed my facelift. Then the friend that had not had hers done yet called to say Dr Leake was retiring and she got his last surgery date 5-30-18. I called right away and got another consult and price had gone up to $8,831.00. Price had gone up $400. I got appointment for 4-30-18. My blood pressure was high each ofc visit so was told no surgery until down for 2 weeks. Went to GP and put on BP Meds and potassium as Dr Leake nurse suggested. Had to get BP and Potassium blood work rechecked before they would approve surgery. I appreciated their carefulness. Let me end here and find picture to upload.
I cannot stress how pleased I am with my recent surgery from Dr. Leake. Over 30 years ago I got silicone breast implants (not from Dr. Leake). Two years ago, I found out they were leaking. Also, one had slipped out of the "pocket" and was headed toward my armpit! In addition, my breast profile was very droopy. Dr. Leake and his entire staff are so kind, professional, and empathetic. Dr. Leake explained the entire process to me at my first appointment, and gave me several options. I chose to have both implants removed, and then to have a breast lift. I am one week out, and so pleased. The results already look so beautiful. I did not have new implants put in. I have two smaller, natural looking firm breasts, just the look I wanted for a woman my age. I have had very little pain with procedure. I've also had a tummy tuck from Dr. Leake, and a face lift, so it's obvious I have a lot of (justified) faith in his talent as a surgeon.
Truly wonderful friendly and informative. He listens and terms you what to expect. I had a breast augmentation and I've never looked better. Thank you Dr. Leake. Best doctor in Atlanta! I love my (girls). His bed side manners are professional and perfect. He made me feel so comfortable and answered all my questions and even called me over the weekend to check up on me after surgery.
I suffered with knee and calves pain because of stage 3 lipedema. PS removed fat from top of both knees and front/back of calves. The lipedema had almost encircled the entire lower legs. Ankles and feet not affected. The liposuction gave me immediate relief from the lipedema. Mobility improved 100% after 3 hours of liposuction. Very happy with liposuction.
This was my third augmentation due to ruptured saliene implants performed by other plastic surgeons. I was nervous upset and concerned because this was my third surgery, but Dr Leake immediately made me feel comfortable during my initial consult. He recommended the new gummy bear implants, which are great and so much better then the saliene implants. He also made my scars from my previous surgeries look better. Dr Leake took the time to make sure I would be happy with the size and shape. I highly recommend Dr Leake.
I was a 40 DD and suffered with back and neck pain for quite some time. I'm now a 40 C and I feel so much better. I look more proportion in my clothes. I'm so glad I did it. I have to say you do have pain. The pain came more from the liposuction under my arms than the breast reduction. But I'm glad I had liposuction because it makes a big difference on the shape of your breast
Dr. Leake performed three of my operations. Two breast augmentations and my final... My explant . Very skilled, compassionate and talented surgeon . Would never think to go anywhere else . My results were great with implants , took them out for health reasons. My results are looking amazing for removal. Updated on 1 Jul 2016: They aren't perfect at all. But they weren't before implants or during implants either. I can stand in front of the mirror and critique it and take tons of pics and daily obsess over them, but I'm not going to. I'm way to happy to have imperfect breasts and most of my health back then to worry if more changes are ahead. Yes, each week they do seem to change a little . I wish I had more pics of them before BA and 1 week post op etc... So, they will probably go through more changes as time goes by. It's funny at 43 yrs old I have never felt more comfortable in my own skin than ever before . I don't look at my stretch marks from carrying my babies as ugly anymore either. I look at my stretch marked stomach and breast as what God intended it for me , to carry children and nurse them with my breast. I am no longer looking for perfection or even throwing pennies in the fountain of youth. I will grow old gracefully. I am done being a slave to my body. I am done with elective surgeries. This whole surgery has been such a blessing! I never felt that way with the augmentation. Don't get me wrong , it was a good augmentation both times except for ripping when I bent over. But, I just felt so fake and judged right away for having them done. For the first time in 12 years I am wearing shirts that fit and cute tank tops AND not getting those unwelcome looks from people. I have only worn a bikini 3 times in 12 years and it was uncomfortable. No matter how good your boobs look everyone knows that a smaller frame girl doesn't usually have a full D. My health is so much better!! The heavy saline and then I switched to slicione were more than my body could handle . If anyone is on the fence about removing them , please don't be. It's a decision that could save your health. Thank you all of you that have supported me along the way . :) Updated on 6 Jul 2016: I should have posted this one first . Is there any part of me that misses them!???NO!!!! Updated on 20 Jul 2016: Well, each day is totally different. I had a wrinkle issue then one night I noticed where the wrinkle turned into an indentation and now we are back to wrinkle/puckering. All in all they aren't as nice as my pre- breastfeed/pre-implanted boobs, but nicer than what I had after nursing my children. And truthfully I think they do look better than the fake sets I did have. I look back on that and don't miss those toxic tanks at all nor do I think they looked good at all anymore. I can honestly say, there is not one regret I have had with removing them. Even if my health was not declining, there was this huge underlining doom of I will have to replace these , I may have a rupture at any time, I must not wait for them to rupture, then I will have more of a mess of health problems, and then there was this when do I replace them do I go by what he FDA says ? Will I get that "rare" anaplastic lymphoma that the FDA finally admitted implants cause ? So rare that I do know someone who has it ! Will I get cc? Will I be financially able to replace over and over ? Now, all that is done !!!! Literally and physically a weight off my shoulders . If you are reading this and on the fence do it ! If you are reading this and thinking about getting implant don't . I wish someone would have slapped me , but even then I probablt wouldn't have listened . Hugs to every woman who has encouraged me along the way and posted their stories and pics. This is a group of strong women on this side. I have learned so much ! I will update probably update at 3 months, 6 and a year. Updated on 6 Dec 2016: This will be my last post for updates. I am 6 months post op and extremely happy with the way my breasts look. The slight puckering went away, they look like normal NATURAL breasts. i am so used to giving light hugs, even with the new silicone I had the last 5 years of my implant life , I gave soft hugs as I knew that everyone could tell I had implants. Mine were very soft, but there's just a big difference between what God made and what man tries to replicate, and man will never be able to create the real feeling thing. All that to say, I finally realized I was still giving lighter hugs and today I reminded myself squeeze away , they are real . It was nice , it's the small things... and the huge things, like no more of those strange health symptoms I was having , no more worrying about when they will need to be replaced, no more avoiding mammograms bc of fear of ruptured implants , no more unwanted stares and whispers behind the back. So happy I did it so unhappy I did this to myself in the first place !
I have waited over 10 years to have this procedure done and to say that it was worth the wait is an understatement. I have friends that have had their breast augmentation done by Dr. Leake and I knew that when it was time he would be my Dr also, I couldn't have made a better choice! The entire experience was amazing! The whole office was so nice and willing to answer any questions that I had. They were excellent about returning phone calls and their bedside manner was perfect. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Leake and the entire staff. Dr. Leake made me feel very comfortable from my very first visit to the office. I highly recommend him to anyone thinking about having this surgery. He gave me exactly the size I was asking for! It's been less than a week since my surgery and I have had no pain and no complications. It's been like a week vacation in my bed watching movies, eating, and sleeping. I would go back and do it 100 times never changing a thing!
Dr Leake was absolutely amazing! I had very droopy breasts and didn't feel as sexy anymore. I had my procedure done on Sept 4th and it is getting close to the 2 month mark and they look great!! Scars are already very, very light! Healing process has been wonderful. I'm so happy I did it and so glad I chose dr leake. He made my breasts look beautiful and "natural" looking. I had a lot of anxiety the day of surgery and dr leake and his staff were so comforting and everything went great. I didn't even have much pain. He did such a wonderful job. Gave me the perfect size and I can't say enough good things about him and his staff!
I was very unhappy with my breasts for many years. I had breast augmentation 13 years ago. I was already a full C and actually wanted just a lift. That physician (not Dr. Leake) convinced me to go with an implant to fill in my saggy breasts. This only caused them to be larger and more saggy. Weight gain of 15lbs caused them to worsen to the point I couldn't find swim suits or tops that fit appropriately. Additionally, I could only find bras at expensive specialty shops. The bras were not attractive and were uncomfortable due to how tight it needed to be to support my large breasts. I have struggled with loosing abdominal fat since I had my son 24 years ago. Since my surgery (only 7 weeks ago), I am already in love with my new body. My breasts are the size and shape I have always dreamed of and my abdomen is flat as well as I now have my hour glass shape back. Dr. Leake listened to exactly how I wanted to look and made that happen. I am so thankful to him!
Your photos show old blood that will be discharged from your wound. this needs to be addressed by your BCPS soon, or you will have an exposed and possibly contaminated breast implant. this could lead to the loss of the implant temporarily, maybe 3 months time. don't delay.
This knee pain needs to be evaluated soon, since it is only on one side. Photos would be helpful, both legs and both knees. You should elevate your legs whenever you are not standing or walking.
Your photos do not demonstrate blisters, as much as dead tissue. the area is small and will heal nicely with good would care. These occurrences do happen for various reasons. These areas should not effect your long term result. Continue to follow up with your BCPS.
It is not normal to wake up during your surgery. This is an anesthesia issue. With general anesthesia it does not happen, however with IV sedation or "twilight" you can have more awareness of the surgery depending on drug levels during your surgery. You should consider surgery in the USA, with a BCPS.
You have a very nice result. the rippling on the inside of the right breast could be improved with either fat grafting or a skin substitute inside your breast pocket, both would be expensive. the right breast crease could be changed to move it upward, but it is difficult to get this completely symmetric. good luck.
