Will the steam from a facial make my Juvederm bruising worse?

A pulsed dye laser can help break the bruise up and shorten the amount of time it persists.  I usually have patients come in 48 hours after their injection if they need this treatment.  This is done at no charge.  The steam from a facial will not worsen your bruise.  Best of luck!

appearance of the face. I recommend that my patients avoid heat exposure for 24 hours after a treatment. We treat bruises with a laser as early as the next day. This makes the bruise resolve more quickly. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

the bruise that appeared from your filler injection is not going to get worse from steam coming from a facial machine. The bruise gets worse only because it comes to the surface and becomes more noticeable. Applying warm compresses will help the bruise resolve much faster. you can also get a bruise cream that may help but it needs to be compounded by a pharmacy. Good luck from New York City

Thank you for your question.  The bruising can be resolved with a vascular laser such as the Pulsed Dye or Excel V laser done approximately 48-72 hours after injection.  This is typically done complimentary.  Steam will not affect the Juvederm or make the bruising worse.  Regards, Dr. Matt Elias
