Will my pig nose and high nose tip change? (Photos)

I am post op day 11. I feel like my new nose does not fit my face, the tip is so high and the entire nose is very pig like. In certain angles I look like i have Michael Jackson’s nose. My surgeon said I have thick skin so he was going to make the tip a little higher because it will come down, but I feel like it’s too high? Will it eventually look normal on my face?

As you will experience, changes occur over the course of rhinoplasty healing. At first, the nose looks too "fat" and too "up," especially at the tip. Most of the dropping happens early, but there can still be significant changes over the full year and beyond

Don’t fret! A nose takes at least one year to heal following a rhinoplasty. At 11 days post-op, your nose will still be quite swollen.  I know that being patient is easier said than done, but the best course right now really is to give it some time to settle. However, it is important to keep in touch with your surgeon throughout your healing process and let him or her know of your concerns. I often find that speaking with your doctor and having more information helps assuage anxieties. Best of luck!

Pig like nose and pulling of the upper lip are extremely common after rhinoplasty for two reasons. 1) swelling at the supratip region will rotate your nose upwards and 2) there was likely some work done at your columella/nasal base to keep the tip at an optimal rotation. 
Both of these combined do give the temporary MJ look, but rest assured it will go down.

Hi there,Thanks for your question.Every patient is different from a healing perspective.It usually takes 1-3 years for the swelling to fully go down after a rhinoplasty. Especially the tip takes the longest time to heal and mold to the new framework because it is the thickest skin of the nose.It is hard to make an assessment without seeing your before pictures however i suggest you to talk to your surgeon to feel more comfortable about your resultsBest,Dr Cagri Sade
