Dr. Konka is an amazing doctor! She does an excellent job caring for her patients. She knew exactly what to do and how to do it. She was one of the best docs I ever had, and I'm 65 years old. Overall excellent care experience.
Through the V.A. I was able to have this surgery and was I ever lucky that I had my deviated septum fixed by Dr. Anita Konka. She is very nice and knows what she is doing. I didn't have any regrets at all throughout the entire preparation, instruction and totally made me comfortable during our consultations and pre-op. Dr. Konka is very experienced not for a second did I have any doubts about her qualifications. I just finished with my last post-op and had absolutely no down time for the exception of the surgery. I recommend her for all groups both young and old. Thank You Dr Anita Konka you have hands of gold!
I had nose surgery about 15 years ago at the University of Penn. I had follow up care and did the minimum in the years following surgery. Recently, my nose had started to bother me, so I made an appointment, and found Dr Konka. She was very pleasant and took the time to listen and answer all of my questions and made some great suggestions on how I could improve the situation without going back in for surgery again. She was very honest about what my expectations should be and walked me through what I should be doing over the course of three appointments and a few months. I am very pleased with where I am now and the treatment Dr Konka provided for me. I would definitely suggest her to anyone looking for nasal care.
Dr. Konka is easily one of the best doctors I've ever had! I had a septoplasty and now I can breathe very clearly for the first time in a long time. She's very knowledgeable and easy to talk to and always made me feel good about the procedure and calmed my nerves every step of the way.
I needed my nose fixed from prior injuries. Dr. Konka reassured me she would take care of me no problem. From start to finish Dr. Konka, her staff at the office and the hospital were nothing short of supportive and amazing. Absolute best doctor experience in my life.
dr. konka was my savior. I was completely out of it when I met her, but she saved my life. I have no words to describe how grateful I am for her and her treatment. she is an angel for what she did for me. every time I see her, I am so impressed with her. I absolutely trust her decisions.
I came to Dr. Konka after suffering a traumatic blow that broke my nose in several places and gave me a concussion. I was very uncomfortable from the swelling and bruising, and I was distraught about the long-term implications of my injury. After the first few minutes with Dr. Konka, I knew I was in confident, competent and caring hands. Dr. Konka explained my diagnosis and care plan in an understandable and concise manner, and was extremely conscious and accommodating of my co-morbidity—my concussion. She found a special headset that would allow me to continue to wear my blue-light filtering eye-glasses that kept me asymptomatic from my concussion. Further, she provided great coordination of care with my anesthesiologist by proactively discussing my history of concussions and altering my anesthesia care plan so that I was not at risk of complications or death. My favorite part about Dr. Konka is that she took the medical and aesthetic results of my case personally and expressed great determination in getting me to look as close as possible to my original self, prior to the break. At four months post-op, I am very happy with the results and feel fortunate to have been under the care of Dr. Anita Konka.
Dr. Konka is incredibly knowledgable, open and honest with her treatment and has been with me every step of the way from my initial referral after a traumatic facial injury to my follow-up 6 months post-surgery, 1.5 years after the accident. She has always given me adequate time and attention and is very thorough in her explanations and examinations. I trust her opinion and expertise 100% and would recommend her to anyone in need or want of facial plastic surgery.
My Experiences with Doctor Anita Konka was great. At first I was kind of nervous because this was my first surgery. I was debating if I wanted to have surgery because of the outcome of the pain or I was scared that my nose wouldn't look the same . She explain everything to me and took me a while to think about but I came to an conclusion that I wanted the surgery. The day I had the surgery that night i had an dream that when Dr. Konka took the cast off my nose and was perfect like nothing ever happen . A week or two later Dr. Konka removed my cast and it was perfect like my dream I wanted to cry . Thank You Dr. Konka for the great experience.
Dr Konka had a very calming way of explaining my procedure and all steps involved through my post-op visits. She was very clear and precise when answering all my questions. I had a pleasant experience and I would gladly return for future visits. The staff was great ! I shared my great experience with my family, friends, and coworkers.
Great question! Photos in the operating room are helpful, however, there are factors that we must keep in mind about intraoperative photos. The amount of swelling and the subsequent shape of the nose is affected by the amount of local anesthetic that has been injected in the nose and the duration of operative time. Obvious changes such as reduction of a substantial hump can be noted on intra-operative photos, however smaller refining maneuvers can be difficult to accurately gauge in these photos depending on the degree of swelling. Nonetheless, intra-operative photography is a great educational tool and an excellent way for patients, doctors, and trainees to gain more information of the actual surgery.
Hi, thanks for the photos. It’s great that you know what you want! I think you would be a great candidate for a rhinoplasty based on your photos. There are two main surgery styles for rhinoplasty, closed and open. Each have their own benefits, precision being a huge benefit for open surgery. I would suggest talking with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to develop an individualized plan for you and then decide which type of rhinoplasty would be best suited for you. Additionally, I applaud you for waiting until you find a surgeon with whom you are comfortable – that is key. I can’t stress enough how important it is to find a surgeon your trust. I would suggest making sure that your surgeon is board certified.
Don’t fret! A nose takes at least one year to heal following a rhinoplasty. At 11 days post-op, your nose will still be quite swollen. I know that being patient is easier said than done, but the best course right now really is to give it some time to settle. However, it is important to keep in touch with your surgeon throughout your healing process and let him or her know of your concerns. I often find that speaking with your doctor and having more information helps assuage anxieties. Best of luck!
Hi, thanks for your photos. Chin augmentation with filler is certainly an option to elongate your face and improve facial symmetry. The duration of the "effect" depends on the type filler that is used. For the chin and jawline, I'd recommend Voluma, Sculptra, or Restylane Lyft. Keep in mind that filler is temporary and if you like the results you may want to consider a custom chin implant, or perhaps start with an implant straight off the bat. Surgical chin augmentation will give you a long lasting result without the need for repeat injections. Find a board certified facial plastic surgeon in your area who has experience with both filler and chin implants and talk about your options! Hope that helps and good luck!
Easier said than done, but don't stress. Time is key in assessing rhinoplasty results and you can't rush time. You'd be amazed at how the nose heals in subtle ways over the course of the year.
