I’m a 39 year old female who did a lot of research before going ahead with my rhinoplasty to fix a deviated septum (after too many broken noses - sports related), straighten my nose and reshape the tip. Dr Roskies and his team were FANTASTIC and I can’t recommend them enough. From the care, attention and the space to ask questions and the time in talking things through with me to all the follow up and post op care it was just such a great experience. Dr Roskies is oh so talented and I’m so grateful for the amazing results of his handiwork.
At 54, I’m almost a year past a deep plane facelift, temporal brow lift, lip lift, neck lift, chin implant, and eyelid surgery—and I couldn’t be happier. After researching surgeons in Canada, the US, and Turkey, I found Dr. Mike Roskies and immediately felt confident moving forward. During my consultation, he took the time to understand my concerns and hopes, even looking at photos from my younger years to ensure natural, personalized results. His recommendations were thoughtful, and his expertise put me completely at ease. The outcome? Incredible. People constantly tell me I look refreshed and youthful, and I love hearing those compliments. Dr. Roskies’ precision and artistry, along with the kindness of his team (April and May were amazing!), made the entire experience seamless and positive. If you’re considering a facelift, I can’t recommend Dr. Roskies and his team enough. They exceeded every expectation! (P.S. Dr. Roskies has my permission to share photos if you’d like to see the results.)
I had my rhinoplasty done by Dr Roskies in August 2023 and absolutely love my nose. It took some adjusting at first but now that I’ve gotten used to it, I feel like it was the nose I was born with. It is straight (miracle worker!), I can finally breathe properly, and it is beautiful. I only wish I had done this sooner, but then it would have been with another surgeon so the timing was actually perfect, as there’s no one else I would trust more. Dr Roskies and his entire team made the entire process seamless from the initial phone call (special shout out to April. I was very nervous and she made me feel so welcome and comfortable.. give this woman a raise!), all the way to the final follow up. They were all so kind, welcoming, and patient with all of my questions and concerns (there were a lot of them!). The surgery day itself was easy. Dr Roskies put on my favourite music (I believe I fell asleep to Otis Redding). Recovery was relatively easy, as I did not experience much pain at all, to my surprise. There was quite a bit of swelling, as expected. But now that I’m over a year out, I am completely healed and happy. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is considering any procedure. Thank you Dr Roskies and team! I would do it all again a hundred times over.
5 I had a deep plane facelift and lower blepharoplasty with Dr Roskies just over 3 months ago. The results are phenomenal and the experience as a patient with the team looking after me was exceptional. I had been contemplating this surgery for years, as I knew the age related changes I was seeing in my face in my late 40s could best be addressed through surgery. I was nervous though and it seemed like a lot of money to spend. I interviewed a number of surgeons and Dr Roskies stood out for the impeccable results- so natural and stunning and also for his open, authentic style. I had high expectations of him and his staff. As I proceeded through the journey pre-surgery prep, day of- and post surgery the experience I had exceeed even those high expectations. The level of care, focus, follow up and connection with me as a person (whose experience really mattered) was something I had never experienced at that level as a client/ patient. The results at 3 months later make me tear up. The surgery gave me the defined jawline, neck and volume/ definition in my face that I had dreamed of, and has given me a level of confidence back that I was missing. I look completely natural and feel beautiful. This was the best money I have spent, and the best decision to go to Doctor Roskies. I will continue to come back in years to come and refer at every turn. Thank you May, April, Dr Roskies and all the others who I was too drugged up to connect with day of! So very grateful.
Dr. Roskies and his team are amazing and so caring! I had rhinoplasty 3 months ago and I am already so happy with my results! I have wanted this surgery for as long as I can remember and never felt like I could find the right surgeon for me. I finally discovered Dr. Roskies in instagram and really appreciated his natural conservative style to surgery. I wanted to trust that whoever I went to would address my concerns (hump on my bridge) but not over do it. And he did just that! My nose suits my face so much better now, but it still feels like me, just an enhanced version. I still can’t believe I actually got a nose job. Dr. Roskies and his nurses April and May did an amazing job making the process as smooth as possible. His nurses are there to answer all of your questions and make sure you a prepared before and after surgery. I would recommend anyone considering surgery to contact them and have a consultation with Dr. Roskies, you will know you are in good hands when you meet with them.
I’m a 27 year old female, 3 months post-op from preservation rhinoplasty done with Dr Roskies, and I can honestly say it is the best decision I’ve ever made. I had been wanting a rhinoplasty for about 10 years and finally decided it was time. I searched for about a year, going back and forth, and was not able to come to a decision on which surgeon I wanted to go through with. My sister was actually the one who came across Dr Roskies and thank god she did, because I was honestly just going to settle. Lucky me, I ended up with a nose even better than I imagined. He absolutely nailed it. It is natural, elegant, and I still look like myself (something I was very worried about!) I can’t believe I’ve got 9 more months of healing and it will look even better than it does right now. Not only does my nose look incredible, but the entire experience with Dr Roskies and the team was amazing. April, the Patient Care Coordinator, and Nurse May, are such kind welcoming souls and made my experience so comfortable right from the start. They treat you like a friend, truly care for their patients, and were quick to answer any question or concern I had. Also, the entire surgical team were awesome too, one of the nurses told me that they were playing country music for me as I woke up from surgery and although I don’t remember (from the anesthesia) lol it was still so kind of them and makes me smile when I think about it. It is the little details like that that made my experience well worth it and I am truly grateful! If you are deciding on whether Dr Roskies is the surgeon for you this is your sign to just go ahead and do it! Very VERY high chance you will not be disappointed. :) Thank you Dr Roskies, April, May and the rest of the team.
I (27 female) am a year out from my rhinoplasty and I couldn’t be happier with my results and my experience with Dr. Roskies and his team. I had been considering this surgery for over 10 years (done at 26, 27 now) and I am so happy that I found Dr. Roskies. He and his entire team made me feel so comfortable, confident, and supported throughout the entire process. I was provided with so much information about what to expect pre- and post-op which helped me feel super calm and at ease leading up to and after the surgery. I can’t thank Dr. Roskies and the team enough for their kindness, support and AMAZING work - I finally feel like I recognize myself in the mirror!
My experience with Mike Roskies and his team was nothing short of phenomenal. Rhinoplasty is a sensitive topic, and it took me years to move forward with the decision, even after meeting with some of the most reputable doctors in Toronto. From the moment I stepped into their office, I felt welcomed. My first meeting was with April, who was very transparent from the start about expectations, timelines, and pricing. Then, I met with Michael, who had an incredibly warm and sensitive demeanor. It was important to me that the integrity of my original nose be maintained, and this is something he agreed. He went into detail about the timeline of expectations and was able to show me previous work that was similar to what I wanted. It took about seven months from the initial consultation to the day of surgery. During this time, I was introduced to May, who is genuinely one of the kindest people I've ever met. She reassured me when I had second thoughts, listened to all my concerns, and called me twice to answer my follow-up questions. The day of the surgery, when my anxiety was at its peak, everyone, including the anesthesiologist, went out of their way to comfort and reassure me. Throughout the entire process, I felt truly cared for, and now, six months post-op, I am beyond happy and grateful for the exceptional results—it’s everything I hoped for and more. Recovery has been smooth and I barely bruised. It wouldn't surprise me to see Mike recognized as the #1 surgeon in Toronto.
I (a 30-year-old female) am very happy with the results of my rhinoplasty surgery! I am only 2 months out from the surgery, but already most of the swelling has gone down and I am pleased with how it has turned out. I have always had a strong nose and in general quite like that about my profile. However, my nose was lopsided due to a past fracture and my broad tip looked very uneven as a result, so I wanted a subtle change that addressed these issues. After a lot of research, I chose Dr. Roskies due to his conservative approach and I am so glad I did! He listened carefully to my concerns, and, even though I was definitely nervous, I felt confident in Dr. Roskies' expertise and that I would be happy with the final result! He and his team were wonderful -- kind and approachable, very willing to answer my many questions and help me figure out logistics. I also appreciated how transparent they were, making sure I knew the risks and limitations, and that I understood the goal was improvement rather than perfection. I have to say, though, I think he came pretty close. It's definitely the perfect nose for me! :)
This is the second review I am submitting for Dr. Roskies. My first review was a year or two ago on behalf of my partner a male in his early 70"s who was feeling down about how the years had creeped up on him. His successful surgery with Dr. Roskies left me feeling a envious and motivated to invest in some facial surgery myself. I am at a 7 months out from my surgery and can not be more pleased with my results and decision to have Dr. Roskiers perform the surgery. I had a lower face lift and neck lift with when I turned 50 and a forehead lift and lower eye blepharoplasty two or three years later. My most recent surgery was with Dr. Roskies in April of 2024 and included a revision deep plane face and neck lift with removal of sub mandibular glands. I have so much confidence in Dr. Roskies skills and experience if I decide to revise my prior forehead lift or get a upper eyelid blepharoplasty in the future I he will be the surgeon i choose. Every one at the practice were professional and knowledgeable. The lead aesthetic nurse May was so helpful preparing me for my procedure are helping me through my recovery.
Great question and a common one. You do have a rounder, more bulbous tip, which isn't harmonious with the rest of your oval shaped face. I agree, a bit more definition to the tip will be advantageous. As we age, this only gets worse as the ligaments that hold the cartilages close together become more lax. Reshaping the tip with cephalic trims, lateral crural strut grafts can be done and tip stability can be accomplished with a caudal septal extension graft. I'd favor lifting your tip ever so slightly to give a more feminized appearance. Good luck!
Great question, typically for an Asian rhinoplasty, we aim to build the bridge and raise the radix (start of the nose). To do this, all of those techniques are employed. Our preference is either using ear cartilage or rib. There is a lot of experience in Asia with silicone and goretex. The downside of the synthetic materials is the risk of infection and extrusion, goretex is notoriously hard to get out in that circumstance. By using your own cartilage, you will never have a reaction to it and it will give the definition you are looking for. Good luck!
Hi maw24, Nice job with the photo editing! I think you are a good candidate, with much of the work being done to refine your tip. You have what we refer to as a bulbous tip, the goal would be to reorient the lower cartilages so that they lie flatter. This can be done with lateral crural strut grafts, possibly alar rim contour grafts. A small shave of the hump and you're all set! Good luck, Dr. R
Hi amandaC., Indeed you did have a beautiful cosmetic result, congratulations to you and your surgeon. The mass in question is hard to identify without full examination, but if I had to take a guess, it would be a turbinate. It is exceptionally rare for a polyp to develop in such a short amount of time and I would suppose that if it existed at the time of surgery, your surgeon would have removed it or taken note of it. The rule of rhinoplasty swelling is a rule of 2s: 2 weeks before you can walk on the street unnoticed, 2 months before the swelling goes down and refinement can be seen, 2 years before your skin returns to its preoperative state. If this is a swollen turbinate, it will subside. On your next follow up with your surgeon, he will have a better idea on what it is. Good luck, Dr. R
Appreciate the drawing efforts, but we can only judge appropriately with an actual photo. In general, this area has a robust blood supply and will heal well. Make sure to keep the area moist with an ointment and follow up with your surgeon at the predetermined time.
