My face is asymmetrical. My nose slants to the right, the tip looks twisted and I have a dorsal hump. How can I fix this?(photo)

It appears your nasal asymmetry resulting in a slight right sided deviation is stemming from the position of your nasal bones.  Osteotomies to break your nasal bone and reposition them would help.  A septoplasty may also be necessary to correct the right sided positioning.  Your tip can be refined as well as a your dorsum reduced. 

Asymmetries are a normal part of almost everyone's face, so try not to be to critical of yourself. A crooked nose can certainly be improved. If it was fractured, you have a good chance of getting it pretty straight again. It can be more difficult if it simply grew crooked, but improvements can always be made. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty specialist who has a lot experience with crooked noses.

Thanks for the question. Rhinoplasty is used to correct malformation in the nose, including asymmetry. A rhinoplasty may even be medically necessary if your nasal asymmetry affects your breathing. Cheek and chin augmentation are the most effective procedures for correcting severe facial asymmetry. I wish you all the best.

Facial asymmetry is exaggerated when looking at photos. I often point this out during consultations and computer imaging. You are used to seeing yourself in a mirror, photos are backwards so asymmetries are more evident. Regarding the nose, it's important to see all views to give a better opinion. Again a personal consultation and computer imaging is very helpful for this as well.  

   I think that tip refinement would make the greatest improvement.  The hump and deviation can be improved as well.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

Hi there,There are no exercises that will fix your cheek asymmetry.  It's extremely common to have one side look different than the other.  Most people have facial asymmetry.  With regard to your nose, you will need a rhinoplasty to address your concerns.  It's best to have the support of your family when making this decision and to seek out a rhinoplasty expert familiar with treating the function and form of the nose.  Best of luck.

Hi Pjaz,Your issues are not uncommon and likely result from a slight facial asymmetry between the left and right sides of your face. Most people are not symmetrical due to the way we develop in utero. However, not everyone's asymmetry affects their nose. In your case, it appears as such.Correction of linear asymmetries is different from cosmetic rhinoplasty. Bump removal or tip refinement can be done independent of the deviation issues. For your deviation correction, likely a septoplasty, left spreader graft, osteotomy, and a right subalar graft would correct the deviation. Everyone has asymmetries.  Everyone. So I wouldn't worry about that. Your cheeks and cheek bones look good already!  I think it possible to have a natural rhinoplasty which would enhance your face and not change it.  Good luck! 

Rhinoplasty for slight hump, bulbous tip , etc.as well as crooked nose can all be made better with refinement of your tip, straightening of your nose and removal of small hump. I do not think your skin is too thick for a good result.

You are already beautiful so you are talking about fixing something that bothers you. Understand that other people do not notice this. People only notice it in themselves or if they tell other people. You could move the nasal vault to the left on your face and make the tip a little smaller. The asymmetry will not completely go away but it should make you happier. Make sure that the imaging makes you happy before you commit to surgery.
