Is what I immediately saw after Sculptra injections (minus swelling) close to what my results will look like?

The final results after a series of Sculptra treatments will depend on how many treatment sessions are done and how much Scuptra is used in each treatment.  I would say that it is usually possible to achieve the immediate results seen after the injections.  Since Sculptra is a stimulating agent, those immediate results normally will fade over a week or so and then there will be some gradual improvement over a month or two.  Multiple treatment sessions are usually needed to provide the desired improvement.    

Sculptra comes in powder form and needs to be diluted in sterile water prior to injection. The improvement that is seen immediately after the injections is due to the water. As the water is reabsorbed and the swelling subsides things will go back to the way they were before your injection. The collagen building process then begins and can take 3-6 months. The solution that is used to reconstitute Sculptra is usually absorbed by the body in the first day. This makes the patient frequently believe that they got no result, but nothing could be further from the truth, because approximately six to eight weeks later the volume is restored and Improvement is seen.
