I had Juvederm injections in my nasolabial folds and smile lines at the beginning of July. I feel that they've come back possibly sooner than expected due to all my movement (I smile a lot!). I was told it would last 9 months. It is mid October now. Is it too soon for a touch up?

Answer: Safe To Have A Filler Touch Up in the Nasolabial Folds After 3 Months Thank you for posting your intersting question, It is safe to return for additional filler or have a touch up in the nasolabial folds after 3 months. Often patients do not have full coreection of their nasolabial folds or realize that thier are other signs of facial aging other than the nasolabial foldds, such as, loss of volume in the cheeks and temples and jowls. I recommed that you have a consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who is experienced with rejuvination of the face using longer lasting fillers like Radiesse, Voluma and Sculptra, for beautiful and natural results. A skilled injector will be able to analyze your face, listen to your aesthetic goals, and provide a comprehensive treatment plan with fillers. Also, you can bring along a photo of yourself from a few years ago to show your doctor. Best wishes, Richard Wellington Swift, MD

Answer: Fillers for the face I always tell my patients that, should they desire to have a better result they should come for additional fillers, if necessary that is, approximately two weeks after the initial treatment. That being said, you understand that it is not too early for you to go for that treatment. There is a category of people who simply break down hyaluronic acid fillers very quickly and you might be one of them. It is best for you to see the original treating physician or see a plastic surgeon like myself. Good luck for New York City
