Uneven swelling after lip filler? 1 day post op. (photos)

Hi and thank you for your question! Swelling following filler injection is quite common and it can be uneven. You should see it gradually going done within the next few days and it should be completely gone within 2 weeks. If by that time you see any unevenness, you should do a follow up with your physician and he/she can easily fixed it for you. I hope it helps and good luck!

Lip filler can take up to 2-4 weeks for results. Swelling 24 hours after injection is absolutely normal. It is common for one side to be a bit more swollen than the other while healing. Ice and elevation can be helpful for the first 72-96 hours. If you are still concerned in 2 weeks, please make a follow up appointment with your facial plastic Dr.

It can take up to 2 weeks post lip injection for all of your swelling to resolve so at this stage you still have to be patient. We often recommend using ice for the first 2 days if swelling develops - you may find it useful. If your swelling persists longer, it would be important to see your injecting doctor to get it checked again.

I'm sorry to see that you are not satisfied and having some concerns about your treatment. Yes, swelling can be common after treatment with filler (especially lip filler).  You're nearly at 48 hours post-treatment now which may be too late for ice to help but eating fresh pineapple is good for bruising and Arnica is also helpful for reducing swelling & bruising also. If you are in any pain, severe discomfort or change in skin colour please contact your practitioner.

Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs.  Sorry that you are having some concerns about your postprocedure appearance.  Swelling is common after treatment with filler, especially when the lips are injected.  Swelling can often cause the appearance of asymmetry or unwanted fullness.  I recommend that my patients apply ice for up to 48 hours after the procedure.  Arnica is also helpful for minimizing normal postprocedure swelling and bruising.  Please keep in mind that it will take 2 weeks to allow normal postprocedure swelling to fully resolve and to see your final result.  If you continue to have any concerns at 2 weeks (final result), then please be sure to see your injector for an in-person reevaluation in order to determine the best course of action.  Hope this helps and best wishes! 

It's hard to comment based on the photo's you have sent. Yes, your lip looks swollen especially the upper one with some unevenness. Swelling is very normal with HA fillers. I would not panick. Apply ice periodically. Give it sometime and have your injector re-evaluate after the swelling comes down. That's the best time to evaluate for irregularities and the best time to correct them.
